The timing could not be worse !!!!!!

So its 2 weeks before school starts and my daughter pulls a Tiger Woods move at the miniature golf course and I end up with a CONCUSION !!!!!!!!! Yes !!!!!! straight in my forehead with the putt putt club !!! :crying2::crying2:I went to emergency and they said that I could be on and off confused for 1 week to 2 months !!!!!!!!

All I could think was how am I going to focus in school if this confusuion I feel doesnt let up for that long ?

It happened the other night and I came home to sleep it off ( I know not the smartest thing, but she was hysterical that she hurt me and I didnt want to make her feel worse ) Next day things got worse, I couldnt focus on anything, the room spun if I got up to quick, I started having a hard time remebering words, even though I could picture in my head what I wanted to say. With ALOT of poking from family I went to the ER. I wasnt suprised over the diagnosis, just the time frame that it could last.

Now im terribly worried about school in 2 weeks...wish me luck

good luck, just be careful and study a little harder than you normally would. you also have the choice to tell your instructors what happened so they arent in the dark about whats going on with you.

Well in my school they make accomodations to people with disabilities. Maybe extra time for a test or extra help on a project. It may sound funny but maybe you can be classified as disabled temporarily.

Just a thought.

How scary! I hope you do okay. Explain what happened to your instructors because it would be considered a disability and you should receive accomadations (sp?). Good luck!

Thanks,

I was so ready for school, I cant imagine walking in day 1 and asking for any special considerations, Im just going to pray that my lostness doesnt last too long. I saw lost because thats how I feel. Im fine for a few minutes and then I find myself staring into space thinking nothing. Or like I said I can see something but cant get it out. Last night in the ER the Doc told me to remember Apple. He came back a few minutes later and asked me what I was suppose to rememeber. I could see the apple in my head, but couldnt think of the word for about 20 seconds. I feel about 20% better today, and with the exception of my on and off smoking ( lets not go there) Im healthy, so hopefully this will correct itself day by day and in 2 weeks ill be good as new.

My advice would not to walk in on day 1 with this info, but call or visit the office of the department NOW and let them know what's going on.

I imagine you'll be fine, but just try to rest as much as possible between now and then. It'll work out, I'm sure. Good Luck!
