Anyone ever donate plasma? I am going to donate tomorrow for the first time. I have donated blood before. I know it's a little different. Just thought someone could maybe give me some pointers? I sometimes get ill when I donate blood. How can I prevent that from happening when I donate my plasma?:nailbiting:

I would place this into the realm of "medical advice" which violates the terms and conditions of allnurses.com. Call the agency to which you are donating and ask them. :)

I sold plasma while in school. They hook you up to a dialysis like machine and you run for an hour or so. Pretty boring.

I know people with certain medical conditions like asthma are not permitted to donate due to increased risk of adverse effects. You need to contact the plasma donation center for advice

I would let the person KNOW who is doing the procedure. I would make sure I ate but we really can't offer medical advice as per the terms of Service
