The HRSA Nursing Scholarship

Updated:   Published

The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.

HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.

All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.

The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.

Scholarship requirements:

To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.

Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.

Scholarship award covers:

  • Tuition and Eligible Fees
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses
  • An annual other reasonable costs payment

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Did you guys just get the email from your analyst?

Hello Applicants: If you responded to the first offer, please let me know the day you faxed the documents. If this is the first time you receiving this e-mail message. Please send the fax response

Nope. Sounds like they're going back and trying again to get in touch with everyone who missed the original email, or whose paperwork got lost in the fax flurry. I'm glad to hear it - means they're getting closer to finalizing everything.

Also, I looove the sound of the word "offer" there. :)

Well does this mean every analyst is sending out these emails? Or just certain ones that seem to be missing paperwork from ppl.

My analyst's initial is MC...I replied to her email. I don't know but I hope they figure it out real soon!!!:yeah:

I faxed all the documents and got a confirmation from my fax machine so hopefully that means she received everything! OMG...more anxiety!!

If anyone gets an email from CL let me know...that is who my analyst is.

You would think, though, that they would go back and verify the people that they did not hear from, instead of resending it in mass quantities. Or maybe they had more people than they expected turn it down? Or maybe they did have fax issues that they didn't admit to? Who knows... either way.

I know that I have not been expecting letters to have been sent in the past few days because I don't know of anyone having credit pulled. They hold fast to the fact that they cannot give the scholarship to anyone without pulling credit.

Maybe, now, if they get all the kinks worked out, they can actually more forward to the next step in the process.

Did you get the first email? I agree with Twois, I think it sounds like they are trying to get in touch with people who they either never received faxes from or the people never received the first email.

Have you ever spoken to her? Or received an answered email from her?

It might not be a mass email. They may be only sending this to the people that they need to hear from. A lot of us have not received this email.

Have you ever spoken to her? Or received an answered email from her?

Yes I emailed her awhile back and asked her if she could tell me if my info was received and I received an email from her saying they would contact me if they didn't receive it. It was the same day we got the letter from the guy saying not to call. But other then that ....oh and I spoke with her on the phone when I was having fax issues...but they were issues on my end not theirs.

lol...so I called my analyst. Get this!! She picks up!! Wooohooo!! Of course my call drops! At&T driving me nutts!! So I called her back and she said she received my email and that her secretary is going through all the documents to make sure mines was received and that she would let me know. She said that they had so many emails and calls. That everyone was picking up and grabbing faxes from the fax machine so everything was just crazy. So she sent out the emails just to make sure she didn't miss anyone....AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!
