The HRSA Nursing Scholarship

Updated:   Published

The HRSA nursing scholarship is available now. I just submitted my application although I'm probably a long shot.

How to Apply for a Scholarship

If you're interested in pursuing a career in healthcare, you may be eligible for a scholarship through the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The HRSA Scholarship Program is designed to support students in various healthcare disciplines who are committed to serving underserved communities and helping to address the shortage of healthcare professionals in those areas.

HRSA offer scholarships to help pay for health professions' education.

All Scholarship awardees will provide a one-year service commitment for each year of scholarship support received.

The application cycle typically opens in late Winter or early Spring and closes in late Spring or early Summer, so be sure to check the website regularly for updates.

Scholarship requirements:

To be eligible for the HRSA Scholarship, you must be enrolled or accepted for enrollment in an accredited program that leads to a degree in one of the following disciplines:

  • Nursing (including RN, ADN, BSN, and graduate-level nursing programs)
  • Nurse Practitioner
  • Certified Nurse-Midwife

You must also be a U.S. citizen, a national, or permanent resident.

Have no federal judgment liens and service commitment.

If you meet the eligibility criteria, you can apply for scholarship through the HRSA's online application system.

Scholarship award covers:

  • Tuition and Eligible Fees
  • A monthly stipend for living expenses
  • An annual other reasonable costs payment

If you have any questions about the program or the application process, the HRSA offers resources and support to help guide you through the process. Don't miss out on the opportunity to receive financial assistance while pursuing your dream of a career in healthcare and serving those in need.

Maybe that means she got your info then?

i didnt get an email, but do remember when they told us to stop calling that they would contact us if they didnt receive everything...

Aw man.....when I saw 5 new pages of the thread from my last unread (last night) it made me think that east coasters had received their mail and got acceptance letters!

No email from either of the analysts that contacted me (MC and KH). And no response from anyone from my school's financial aid OR bursar's office! Grr...

She emailed me back! (Yah!!!) Now we wait......

So MC is my analysts too and I haven't heard from her. I have called and left messages and email. No Response! I guess I will email her.

I emailed MC today and she confirmed back in an email that she did receive my documents that I faxed on 7/19.

For those who have CL I emailed her to check on my documentation...I will let ya'll know if you should email depending on what type of response I get :-/

Okay CL responded and said she did receive them...that's all she said...

I have MC and didn't receive the email. When I talked to her after faxin in my documents she said she would be in contact if she needed anything. So my guess would be that is what the email is. I was hoping for a letter in today's mail...doesn't look

like it will happen.

Specializes in PACU.

I probably shouldn't have posted that...MC is probably wondering why everyone is calling her about an email when she only sent the email to certain people. SORRY everyone! I guess it turns out they didn't receive my documents because I had to re-fax it today. So it doesn't look like they are making awards just yet...

Congrats to everyone going to nursing school, scholarship or no scholarship.

For those who did get the scholarship (so it seems), did you have exceptional achievements (and/or lots of volunteering, etc) in your application? What is your gpa? I'm just trying to get a general idea for next year. Thanks!

No decisions have been made yet on award recipients.
