I too received my LPN before getting my RN. I used a Kaplan review book when I got my LPN and used the same test strategies when I took my RN NCLEX. I did buy a book that I really liked to review actual content. It is the comprehensive review for the NCLEX-RN examination by Saunders. I have seen it on sale at various bookstores as well as online. The fourth edition is blue. I still like using it as a review reference even after passing the NCLEX-RN. Good Luck!!

I agree with the previous poster, I also did the LVN to RN bridge program. I used Kaplan, Saunders, Lippincott, Nursing bullets, RN NCLEX made Easy. I used the CDs, tried to do at least 50 questions each day. I really liked the Kaplan and Saunders. I used the Saunders while in school since it is divided into categories, that also helped with tests.
I passed NCLEX-RN with 75 questions the first time. I still use the CDs to quiz myself in the areas that I don't have much experience in just to keep updated. I loaned my books out and they never came home.
I bought my books online through Amazon and B&N, much cheaper than the bookstores here.

In reading most of the posts the consenses is that most people have had the best success with the Saunders book. I have been told that the 4th edition is the one to get. Good Luck.
