  1. Even though I graduated nursing school several years ago, I did work part-time while going through the nursing program. It wasn't an easy task, but with persistence and an understanding family, I was able to graduate. I had to learn how to balance my time wisely. I studied at night and on the weekends and got together with friends for study sessions whenever possible. It was stressful at times, but worth it in the end. It's possible to do anything once you set your mind to it. Always keep your goal in mind!
  2. During nursing school, we toured a correctional facility where we witnessed a correctional facility nurse in action. Most of the day was related to distribution of meds. I felt it was a strange environment -Not for everyone. You have to be a "strong" minded person. It is for some but not for everyone.
  3. I am the mother of two and have had the best success with balmex. Others have also worked but the balmex brand has seemed to work the fastest on my children.
  4. I recently purchased an Omron automatic blood pressure machine and have been pleased with simplicity and consistancy. I hope that this helps.
  5. In reading most of the posts the consenses is that most people have had the best success with the Saunders book. I have been told that the 4th edition is the one to get. Good Luck.
  6. I think that anyone that has taken the exam more than once understands your feelings. I wish you all the luck. Since this is an older tread I hope that you have gotten your results and concluded "your mission". If not -DONT GIVE UP.
  7. I have taken NCLEX RN Exam twice and have not passed. I really believed that I was one of the few that could not get thru this thing. This forum however has shown me that I am not alone and that hopefully there is hope for me and a light at the end of the tunnel. I think that this forum is great for at least venting the frustrations that some of us have and a great way to celebrate when that pass date does finally come. Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Gotta get back to studying.
  8. As you can tell from my screen name, I am also the mother of two boys. Yes I'll say it again TWO BOYS. That translates to alot of running around and cleanup. Having a family is a very important part of my life. They mean the world to me and I would be lost without them. I was going to nursing school whne I had my first. It is difficult but can be done. Just remember, that life is about experiences and experiences wouldn't happen without family. Good Luck- Believe in yourself and dont forget that -YOU CAN DO IT.
  9. Does anyone know if there is any difference between the saunders 3rd and 4th edition. I have the 3rd edition which I have been using to study but I am not sure if I should stop drop everything, buy the 4th edition and start over. It will be good re-reading anyway but I am not sure if I should go thru this effort or continue and read other supplemental material instead. Any thoughts?
  10. I am relatively new to the forum and wanted to question the average amount of time it takes to prepare for the NCLEX RN Exam. I do understand that everyones schedule is different and some have better study habits than others. With that said, can anyone tell me the average time they feel it will take to be preparred to take the test. Any input would be greatly apppreciated.
  11. Life comes with highs and lows. Your request for encouragement shows that you are a person that wants to better herself and rise to the next level. I know you can do it.
  12. Did you use the 3rd or the 4th edition of Saunders? I currently have the 3rd edition. Does anyone know if there is a difference.
  13. I've taken the NCLEX RN twice now with no success. I am in desperate need of advice on how to be successful my third time around. I live in the Palm Beach County area and was wondering if there was anybody that could assist me. Please respond if you have any thoughts or ideas.
