Guys, tell me the best places you've ever worked.
The nicest people, the traveler friendly places.
I need a new location.

I've traveled for almost 20 years now......and don't see myself quitting this lifestyle anytime soon. Nicest places and friendliest folks don't necessarily go together. I'm an outdoor type myself so what I like may not be your idea of heaven.
Scenery and outdoors:
Any of the New England states
Wenatchee, Washington (try Cougar Inn at the state forest)
Door County Peninsula, Wisconsin
Albuquerque, NM (my location right now)
Olympia Peninsula, Washington (great place)
Muskawag, Alaska
Best folks:
Hands down, it was Abilene, TX at Hendricks #1
Next, Wenatchee, WA
Both good folks and great facilities
Albuquerque has to rate way up there too...but learn Spanish
Worst: (remember, my opinion only)
Waterbury, CT
Indianapolis....Methodist
Just about all of the East Coast Florida hospitals
Best assignment.....Smokejumper medic in Glacier National Park one summer.
It's a great life......it's your only one so why not enjoy.

My favorite thus far is UCSF. Very travel friendly and a great environment to work in. Would definetly consider working another assignment there.

I think at this time of year - take a look at
Falmouth Hospital
in Falmouth MA for an ER contract.
You are treated fairly and as one of the staff.
The RN's, Admin and support staff are the best.
The orientation is excellent and the ratios are phenomenal. 2.5 - 3 to 1. 1:1, if necessary!
The MD's are easy to work with, too.
They ALWAYS ramp up staffing this time of year d/t the influx of the Cape Cod season. So it IS NOT a core staffing issue - just supplemental for the season.
The down side:
Housing is a bit sticky (and expensive), but you are on CAPE COD for the summer and just a ferry to the Vineyard and Nantucket. So many great things to enjoy -
I think most companies staff there (through Cape Cod Healthcare - they also own the Hyannis facility. But, I do not know first hand about Hyannis - but, I'd expect that it would be a good choice too) so I'd shop the best one for Bottom Line $$$ and housing allowance (get as much info and pic's PRIOR to getting there - this is USUALLY not executive type housing). It will be very difficult to arrange your own housing.
If a group were "going" and everyone could pitch in their housing money you might get a better choice. Call the realtors and do it soon.
Good Luck
