The aftermath of the pharmacology exam

Nursing Students General Students

The aftermath of the pharmacology exam resembled a funeral. One by one we filed from the classroom after saying goodbye to our last test. Small groups gathered in the hall and the cafeteria, the mood was not joyous, some were sad, some were crying, some were just quietly contemplating their fate. The grades were handed back from yesterdays fundamentals class...at least one person did not make it....one person, out of 30, got an "A" for the class. The remainder of the causalities will be known tomorrow when the pharm grades are posted. After about an hour the last of the small groups were leaving. Some were to gather at a restaurant for a margarita, some going home...maybe to begin cleaning the house that had been neglected for the last 16 weeks. Yes, it reminded me of a funeral...we just won't know until tomorrow who died. Hopefully the survivors will be able to celebrate.....and hopefully, sometime over the next four weeks...begin to look forward to the second semester of the nursing program....

well, i made it! we lost 5 out of 30 students and there was only one "a" in the entire class! i can't believe this semester is over...i don't know what to do tonight....feel like i should be studying something!

susan, congratulations! it was a bitter/sweet on tuesday after we got our results from fundamentals finals.

enjoy your break!

Susan,

Congrats! I remember pharm (not very fondly either!). I also just took the final from hell. It was a med surg final and for the first time since starting this program, I felt like I hadn't attended one class but just read an article on a few of the things that were on it. I did manage to pass but, we lost 7 people out of 36. I'm told that it gets even tougher this coming semester. I have two exams first day back...one med calcs....the other is on 33 drugs that they gave us to memorize over "vacation". Oh well, I guess if I want that brass ring I'll do what I have to do to get it right!! LOL!!

Again, BIG congrats!

I lied...we lost a total of 11 from Pharm! Add that to the others, and over 1/2 our class is gone!
