Stars I find that I don't like driving in dark or rain as much now that I'm older

NJ22 that sounds like a very busy day

Ado flan sounds nice, have never made it myself

Tweety glad you got out on time even if things were crazy

Hi Dianah

Found out that my dad will actually be on fidaxomicin, which apparently is pretty specific for C diff

Work started looking crazy, new case and stuff to do for the coworker who was off and a bunch of documents to review.  However, a coworker who had time and saw that I had a new case did my tasks for the coworker who was off.  And it turns out the new case was intended for someone else.  So the day ended on a quiet note

After work drove to the restaurant outing with the over 50 group.  Decent sized crowd of about 8.  Traffic was a bit slow but mostly because of an accident, other than that not bad for the day before Thanksgiving

Today will get some bird watching in this morning, and then I'll head over to my cousin's for Thanksgiving.  Otherwise should be a quiet day

Going to be quite a bit colder today, in the mid 30s, although no rain or snow expected

Good morning!  Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm just back to the gym and having lunch. Lots of people working out this morning like any other day.

I'm going to make Dianah's tomatillo soup this weekend.  I actually used the last of my Mexican oregano, but don't taste much different between that and regular oregano or other herbs.  Come to think of it I haven't notice tomatillo's around.  My local store is almost always frequented by blacks and whites..so collard greens are abundant but not tomatillos.  LOL

In Florida one gets used to driving through torrential rain storms.  Often it's sunny, you drive through a torrential storm, and it gets sunny again.

Happy Thanksgiving.  We will be having fresh frozen Salmon from the Yukon with gingered carrots from the garden and some rice.

Our tomatillo supply in Alaska is from Mexico.

Good 12-Noon, and Happy Thanksgiving to you all ! I am lounging in bed and drinking coffee, and thankful to be doing so!

Had a nice surprise this morning: my phone woke me up at 10 AM and it was SiL calling from outside on the patio, asking me to come down and let her in. She came to get Nannie up and dressed, took her over to her house for the 'early serving' of Thanksgiving dinner, and will bring her back home later (not keeping her all afternoon, but these few hours will be a nice break for me!) I had told her I probably wouldn't be going over there with Nannie today because of the heavy rain predicted. When they bring Nannie back, they will be bringing a plate of food for me.

It may be crazy, but since tomorrow the Chatty CG will be here, I was thinking I MAY go over to Walmart to battle the Black Friday Crowd because I do have some things to get.  However, on second thought I may delay any shopping until another day, because none of the things on my list are urgent. Maybe instead it will be a good afternoon to putter around upstairs in my room and/or the other two rooms up here, tossing things and straightening the rooms out a bit, because they are driving me nuts being so piled up and messy. In fact, I may go ahead and get dressed and do a little of that now. There are the usual dishes to wash and wastebaskets to empty because tomorrow is supposed to be trash pick-up day, but the trash company does weird things to their schedules when it is around a holiday, so who knows?! I will still put the barrels out at the end of the driveway tonight JUST-IN-CASE!  The dishes can wait in the sink until I get around to them, but the trash needs to go!

Okay, enough for now. Later, y'all!

Happy Thanksgiving! We've already finished our meal after all that preparation! Twin A will leave in a couple of hours to go to work. The flan turned out good, although the caramelized sugar did get hard in the pan so there's very little caramel topping.

It's a chilly 45 degrees but sunny and very nice for a Thanksgiving day.

Nannie was returned home at 1:45 PM. Now, with her belly full, she is sleeping. I will be going across the street shortly to get a plate from the neighbors (who are better cooks than SiL, or at least have more interesting dishes than SiL does.) I have to clean out the fridge so there will be room for all the FREE FOOD. We will be happily eating leftovers for several days!

3:45 PM~   I ate three bites of everything from the neighbor's three take-out boxes they loaded up for me, and I am STUFFED! I certainly couldn't eat it all, but from the 'groaning board'  I had  a GIANT smoked turkey leg, some traditionally roasted turkey, scalloped potatoes, and these>, with different herbs cooked with each of them:> mashed potatoes, green beans, carrots, and brussels sprouts with garlic cloves, oh, and the stuffing. I haven't even looked in the containers sent over by SiL. There are multiple desserts, too, from both places, which I can't even THINK about eating now! All kinds of cakes, cookies, and pies. We have "made out like bandits" with all this food, for which I am giving many, many THANKS! The neighbor said if we wanted second helpings, to come back by later on, and I had to laugh. It'll take me several days to work through everything from the containers now in the fridge. YIKES!!

Num-num-num-num! 😋

Leftovers are the BEST part of Thanksgiving!!  Oh, and the turkey soup made from the turkey carcass, to be sure!

We took ds out for a nice T-giving meal at the local steakhouse.  The menu was choice of Turkey/stuffing, Glazed Ham, combo Turkey/stuffing AND glazed ham, or Prime Rib.  Add two sides, and either a pumpkin tart or an apple tart for dessert.  I got turkey and green beans and yam casserole.  Dh got turkey, mashed 'taters, and green beans; ds got glazed ham, mac n cheese, and I forgot what the second side was.  It was all VERY good, and we enjoyed visiting.

It's a nice 68 degrees out, though one can tell it will drop to the 50's (and maybe the 40's) at night.  It's clear, too --- I saw the peaks of the local mountains (San Gorgonio), AND the desert peak of San Jacinto, when we were driving to the restaurant.

Have a good evening!
