Thanking those who wrote you recommendation letters - entry-level MSN

Hi everyone,

I was accepted to my top choice direct-entry MSN/NP program and I'm very excited to be starting classes in the summer.

I'm trying to find out if it is common to send a gift or a token of gratitude to the people that I had asked for recommendation letters -- my recommenders were a nurse manager, a nurse practitioner, and a chief medical officer.

How did you thank the people that wrote you recommendation letters after you were accepted into your program?

Just letting them know that you got accepted and thanking them warmly is plenty. No need to get them any kind of gift.

A handwritten thank you note telling them you got the job? If you want to do something, maybe a small coffee gift card.

I agree with the previous posters. Gift-giving is not expected. But a thank-you note is appreciated.
