I interviewed today and was offered the job on the spot. I told her I would call tomorrow with my answer (had to discuss with hubby). I am going to accept it but wonder if I should send a thank you note?
My inclination is yes, through the mail, but is it OK if I send a card, like you buy in the store and not a "letter", since I am not really selling myself anymore? I just wanted to drop an elegant note to say "thank for your time and you were really nice" type thing. Would this be OK etiquette? I was thinking just "thank you" and then something like I can't wait to start on your floor, or something??
HELP!

I always thought the thank you note was for after an interview, not when you accept the job. It would be nice, but the job might start before the note gets there!!

I like the idea of a nice letter as well...
Now, what department did you choose!!???
No, No, No......I don't want to send a "nice letter":lol2: , I just want to send one of those little cards, blank inside, thank you on the outside.....can I send that?
Cardiac..it is a neuro floor!!:monkeydance: Lots of learning there!
Neuro is cool-and a little scary! Tons and tons of learning!
When I graduated, I got a little card from my employer to be...I wasn't even hired yet. I loved it and thought it was so nice.
I'm sure your new boss will really appreciate the "card", lol. I'm sure one of those blank cards will do fine. I will venture to say that 99% of people didn't give them a care, and so you will stand out.
:balloons: :balloons: Congrats on your first job!!!:balloons: :balloons:

I would, and did.
Not only that, my first day on the job, my boss gave me a thank you card with a 20 dollar bill that said "Thank you for choosing us, take your boys out for ice cream and talk about how your day was."
I do work at a great place!

I would just send an e-mail saying "Thank you for the offer--I look forward to joining your team".
