Make sure you get the right edition!! $50 doesn't sound out of line to me. Remember to take it off your taxes.

My just renewed my NRP and didn't want to pay the $50 price the hospital was offering. My husband is experienced with ebay and it's associated site http://www.half.com. We got my NRP book used but in new condition and with the CD (that had never been opened) for $30 plus under $4 for shipping.
Caution; you have to have a pretty good feel for ebay and have a level of comfort in picking out reliable sellers. My husband has a pretty good sense about those things. Amazon does have it for $41 and at that price offer free shipping though it will not be the fastest shipping if you don't need it right away.
I almost waited too long to order the book. It arrived about 5 days before my class and I was working 3 of those days. I took the book to work the last night I worked then studied it the next day and a half. Though really if you've taken it before I think reviewing the CD is enough to adequately prepare you.
