Texas Woman's University (TWU) FNP Spring 2024

Hey guys! 

I don't see a thread for the Spring 2024 cohort of TWU's FNP program yet so I thought I'd start one. I'm doing the online FNP program. Anyone else applied already? 

Sorry, my brain has been scrambled by pharm midterm coming up.  I was accepted for Spring 2024.  I didn't mean to cause more panic!

I think they're saying they originally applied for Summer 2023, but then their application was pushed back twice to Fall 2023 and once more to Spring 2024. So they applied April 2023 and just heard back a few days ago that they were accepted for Spring 2024. That's almost a 7 month wait and a full year turnaround before actually starting the program!

I hope they don't do that to us. How many applicants from previous semesters do they have to contact before getting to us? It's like they're back logged on applications. If that's the case they should just close admissions for a semester to catch up.

No worries at all. Thank you for clarifying atleast we know they are sending decisions! Congrats on the other program ?

I spoke with my advisor for an update on Monday and he said they were finishing up reviewing applicants and should be making decisions. Which obviously they are since someone has been accepted and declined. He did say since I was one of the later applicants, they may meet seating capacity. However, I don't have to reapply for Summer. Which I'm considering waiting to iron out a few things. But he also said they won't push applications out more than 1 semester. So it may seem long if you applied early in the registration process.

Thanks for the update! I wasn't nervous until this week.. hopefully we hear back by next week. I did get accepted to UTA and their program was similar in that I got accepted close to the start date (actually only about a month prior to the start date). I ended up declining because TWU is my first choice. Good luck to everyone & if I hear anything I will absolutely pass it along!

Does everyone's status still say "awaiting department review" on web advisor?

I reached out to my advisor today and this is what he had to say "We just got a batch of decisions last week, so I'm expecting more to get released soon. I'll keep an eye out for any changes and let you know as soon as I see a decision come in"

Yikes, I was not expecting to have to wait this long and really thought we'd hear something.. anything this week.

I got a call today from an advisor informing me that they still haven't made a decision ??‍♀️
