Texas Woman's University (TWU) FNP Spring 2024

Published

Hey guys!

I don't see a thread for the Spring 2024 cohort of TWU's FNP program yet so I thought I'd start one. I'm doing the online FNP program. Anyone else applied already?

That is AWESOME! Good luck in your interview! I  wish TWU was giving us more updates. ? isn't the program set to start January 2024? So that's less than 3 months away!

I got in a few days ago, but I declined.  I applied in April of last year and they kept telling me 2-3 weeks.   In total it was about 7 months from application to acceptance.  I ended up deciding to go to Baylor for their DNP program and have been very happy with it so far.

Thank you! I'm nervous but excited? But yes the program starts mid-January and according to TWU's academic calendar, registration for grad school students opens October 31st for the Spring semester. So they're cutting it pretty close.

Wait, you applied in April 2022?? A 7 month wait is a bit ridiculous. But congrats on getting into the DNP program! Can I ask what the interview was like? Clinical questions or more "Tell me about a time when..." questions?

I applied the beginning of April 2023.  At that time, the counselor told me I was applying for the Summer of 23 class. A few weeks later, they sent me a request to change my application to fall of 23. Then the last person I heard of getting in for the fall semester had applied a couple weeks before me. And they asked me to change my application to Spring of 24.  I did, but at that time I also applied to Baylor. I completed my application with Baylor with an admission counselor constantly in contact with me. I received an acceptance for the fall semester less than two weeks after I applied.

The DNP interview was not that bad. Mine was more of an informal discussion. They asked a lot of questions about where I saw myself fitting in as an APRN and why I wanted to do a DNP instead of a masters.

I'm not sure where you're going, but good luck with your interview! I hope you get in!

Wow I had no clue registration that soon! I wonder if they have sent out some acceptances and we just didn't make the cut? Seems like they are cutting it sooo close.

Ahh I see, I misunderstood. It makes no sense they asked you to move your start date twice!

But thank you for the insight regarding your interview! Fingers crossed I get in!??

Wait you were accepted to TWU a couple days ago? Or somewhere else?

When I spoke to my counselor on 9/22 they hadn't even finalized decisions yet. Maybe some people started getting them last week and they're just not on this thread? But even still that's cutting it very close to registration. The lack of organization does make me a little nervous.

I'm also curious, when did you hear back regarding acceptance for TWU Spring semester?

I got accepted to TWU a few days ago.  I think mine was one of the last applications excepted for Summer. The last people excepted for fall, which would've been four months after I applied, had submitted their application two weeks before mine was submitted. So it looks when I applied it was somewhere between three and seven months for acceptance.

Oh wow, Summer 2024? I didn't even know they were doing that semester yet! I was going to apply for that one if I didn't get into Spring ?
