Warning about Texas Wesleyan:

As a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University I would like to forewarn future students about the quality of the program. From my experience it seems that Texas Wesleyan is solely in the business of anesthesia education to make a profit. Their program is three times the size of other anesthesia programs. This may mean that the acceptance process is a bit easier, however their failure rate is extremely high. In 2008 the fail rate of the class was approximately 25%.

At TWU you will become a number, not a valued student of a rigorous and expensive program. If problems arise at clinical sites it is completely your issue to deal with, as no one from the school will back you up. In fact after numerous complaints to TWU about my clinical site they agreed that students should be placed elsewhere do to extremely poor staffing and safety issues. I was then informed there were simply too many students for TWU to be able to place at another clinical site. Once again I felt like the program had more students than it could handle.

Realize that when you interview at TWU they will tell you about their wonderful board pass rate. Keep in mind that almost every school has students take the same $675 exam review course, so the playing field levels out.

I hope this letter does not come across as a bitter student trying to pick a fight. In fact I did very well in the program and love my job as a CRNA. I only want to warn other students to be wise about where they decide to invest in their $100,000 education.

i actually am going to be attending TWU starting this fall. do you mind if i ask where your clinical site was?? what year did you graduate??

i am actually attending TWU at the moment, and do not feel the same way you do at all!!! i am completely satisfied with my decision to attend there, and i have no regrets. if i had to choose again, i would choose TWU. i initially thought they were just interested in admitting a lot of students and taking all their money. but after interviewing, i felt different. my instructors are ALWAYS available. i've never had to wait over 24 hours for an e-mail response (usually 4 hrs). they offer home numbers, cell numbers, e-mail addresses, etc.... so sorry you had a bad experience, but i don't want to discourage future students. good luck with your career.

I went to the CA site. Do you mind me asking how far along you are in your program?

2nd, start clinical in the fall.

I am intersted in connecting with current students in the Louisville TW location. I have met a few of the students and wished I would have gotten their e-mails. Any Louisville students willing to contact me, please do so.

Thanks
