Texas Wesleyan CRNA 2018

Nursing Students SRNA

Published

Hello all,

Are there any current applicants to this cycle receiving feedback or interview dates?

Also, Any current or recent student have tips for applying to Texas Wesleyan. What was your interview like? What is important to them, (gpa, experience, interview)? Good things to study before interview/starting school.

I applied this year and am hoping to get an interview. Any and all help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

Submitted my application back in June and have yet to receive any feedback.

I submitted my application in May, hasn't received any feedback yet. Anyone got call for interview. when i called twu they said will be looking at the applications by mid September. If anyone receive any feedback, pls post.

thanks

there is a feed titled" TWU CRNA 2018" with a lot more comments just FYI! :)

Hi everyone !! Applied to TWU in September got a face time interview for the Colton, CA site last week and accepted on the spot ! Anyone else here that got into the Colton site as of yet ??

Applied 9/8 for all Tx sites (DFW area, Dallas VA #1) just heard back today she said I might heard back in a few weeks. Hope everyone gets in!

for interview---Have great letters of references (managers of course and attendings/directors...), show that you have done some community service, show that you have done some conferences, know patho physiology of typical patient and how the meds work (at the cellular level) for that specific diagnosis, they may ask about vents, how you deal with difficult people, what do you want to do after (give back to the community...teaching research).know your current type of patients well and how they are treated well ..be genuine/yourself. they will ask about how you plan to pay for school and if your family/husband/wife will support you. Are you ready to wake up at 0400 for clinical or leave your family and be close to school. Also I would go to AANA and make sure you know the general information.....they will ask personal question to get to know you. for some students it was laid back for some it was more intense....depense on who interviews you.. they may ask about machines you use (pulse ox...ETCO monitoring....)

if you get in school.....I would highly highly suggest you take bio/org/chem because the chem course is difficult and the professor was difficult to reach or get help from. (the one they offer was not much help and was very frustrating to understand or get help from...take one at a school that really teaches you the subject) many students struggled. if you ask fo help, you are expected to figure it out on your own, did not find it to be supportive. The A&P is difficult but if you have someone or a group dictating word for word and study it several times a week you will pass this professor is wonderful but subject is difficult and you will learn tons. the pharm class is like a open faucet just pouring down your throat, this prof was great the one in first semester, the 2nd semester is also difficult but I have no comment about her. so be prepared to study 8-10 hours a day (every single day). It helps if you help each other out in terms of your classmates. Everyone is highly intelligent so they can help you out....however some students do well studying alone...If you are a distant student it is difficult to get a hold of the professors and they will not offer much help (A&P and pharm i they may help more) the chem prof not helpful. if you are struggling they will expect you to move to campus.

AS a student you are recorded while in class ALL THE TIME and you are watched all the time which is something I was not used to. If you ask for help be ready for them to look back at how many times you have accessed their lectures. They record and monitor how much you study, yes they go back and watch you during classes and tests. they record the lectures for you to watch later it is nice to watch classes after to review. I dont get to see my family during school. Clinical is different as there are in many different states.
