Hi there! Just wanted to start a forum for those applying to the Texas Tech University ABSN 2025 program! Have you guys sent out your application? 🙂

Is anyone still waiting to hear? I sent an email today and was told that they are still reviewing applications and there is no specific deadline as to when we could find out.

Yes, quite a few of us actually! You're not alone, praying for all of us to hear something soon!

I'm glad I'm not alone! We got this! What region did you apply for if you don't mind me asking?

My first location was Abilene and my second was Lubbock. Starting to thing I should have just applied for all of them

Right?! I applied to Dallas but maybe I should have added more locations. Oh well too late now.

Hi everyone, as of now I've gotten a few items on the checklist that are due by 10/30. If you're still waiting on a response, I'm sure you'll hear something this week since some stuff is due in about a month. Stay hopeful and pray this is your timing. 🙂

As far as the CNA course, I sent an email since I had a CNA cert. from about 10 years ago and was trying to avoid paying the whole thing. I was told I'd have to complete the full 100 hours. I took the first 60 online and will do the remaining 40 hours hands-on. I'm still looking to see where to finish off the course (the cheapest option), so if anyone has recommendations in Lubbock please lmk. However, they said I wouldn't have to take the state test. So as long as you complete the course, but I'd still ask to make sure.

Hope this helps!!

First of all thank you for all the useful information & sharing your experience. I followed everyone you listed & saved those videos specifically! It's appreciated 🤗

I also was wondering if you can't switch from night shift then can you request it? I work night shifts already so it would fit my schedule better with my kids but I was wondering if it was even an option to say hey could I have a night shift clinical. Also where are some of these clinical sites? Just trying to gauge what my commute time may possibly be & what's a clinical shift like? Is there any paperwork due after each shift? are sims & exams at the Forest Park location? Sorry for so many questions in advance LOL 😂 hopefully you see this

Hi, I had a question since you're the only comment I've seen about working while enrolled in the program. I am getting a bit nervous about not being able to work while completing this program as I have no financial help and depend on my job. I let my employer know I'll be starting school in January and well I will have to leave. There's no way I can work at my current position and go to school.

If you don't mind me asking, do you plan on working full-time? I depend on my job for income, and from previous forums, it seems most students don't work during this program. I just wanted to see how many other students plan on working while completing the ABSN program.

Any tips from previous or current students who were employed during the program would be helpful! 🙂

Yes, similar situation as yourself & so I have to work.

If you can't downsize or minimize bills. Look into temp agencies see what type of PRN work they offer maybe? Hospitals, if you don't already work in one look for PRN or Part-Time jobs there. Just flexible jobs in general...in case you wanna work more or less as school allows....it's for 12 months we got this! Sending you all the good vibes & prayers🙌🏻

I have a few coworkers that did this program and all of them said working is possible as long as you are responsible and have good time management! Some of my coworkers had kids and worked and assured me that I could definitely work during the program since I have no kids to take care of LOL. I currently serve and work PRN as a CNA so my schedule is pretty flexible thankfully. I'm not sure how well it would work out if you had a 9-5 type of job.

Hi Everyone!

I just wanted to ask if you all have been having issues setting up your ttu email address or if you've been able to access the virtual orientation yet due to the outage?

I was accepted into the Abilene campus and was hoping to get started on the virtual orientation part.

We are not able to access anything due to the IT issues. See ttuhscinfo.com for updates!

I feel like I'm crazy but has anyone had any luck getting into their raiderlink yet? I haven't heard anything in my regular email about changed due dates or anything and I haven't been able to access the courses required before the end of the month.
