I'm totally new to this and I am amazed at all the information this web site provides! Is anyone else on here going to be applying for the TTU Traditional Nursing Program for the Fall 2012 semester? Also, I need to take intro to nursing and pathophysiology this Spring. Is it best just to take it at Tech? Any input would be most helpful!
Those of you that still have to decide on schools may find this information helpful.http://www.bon.texas.gov/nursingeducation/edudocs/2011-NCLEX-RN.pdf - pass rate for 2011 for all Texas program

Good luck deciding!
Wow, thats really surprising to see. I guess our professor told us the wrong thing but this isnt the first time they gave the wrong info thats for sure lol
The test average steadily increase but its really tough to make up for a lot of people. It's a matter on people "thinking" like a nurse that able you to do well on tests. Tbh, you dont need to know everything about patho just the basic which you will need to apply later on. I have a list of books that are really beneficial especially on tests (Kinda frustrating cuz a lot of the books they assigned weren't really helpful to handful of us)Having a job is very manageable for the first semester but second semester is going to be really really tough. I know a few that have a job and they had a very difficult time especially having 30 hrs of clinical week along with lecture and test.
Tech is a very good program. I remember hearing from our professors that last years graduating class they had very high graduating numbers and a lot of them pass the NCLEX as well. I forgot the statistics but they said it was above 95% for both graduating and passing the NCLEX
@redraider2325 Thank you so much for the info!! Ok I am thinking I will try a job for first semester. btw do you know of any decent moderately priced apartments ( 3 or 4 bedrooms)? Oh would you mind sharing that list of books? It would be greatly appreciated! Tech's program has a lot more classes than msu that is for sure. and The nclex pass rate for tech is almost 90% which really isn't that bad when you consider how many people are taking the test and the fact that 90% "receives honors." Thank You for all of your help! I remember you said in one of your earlier posts that you were done with clinicals for now? Does clinical not last the entire semester? I prob just read ur previous post wrong. Thank You for your help! It has helped to relieve some serious stress!! :)
