Is anyone applying to the Texas Tech 2nd degree BSN program for 2016? I am and thought I would start a thread on here to get some conversation going! I'm so excited about applying but am nervous about getting in!
I haven't heard anything about a drug test yet. Looks like we'll also need 2 MMR and a TB test: https://www.ttuhsc.edu/studentHealth/immunizations.aspx.
I got my fingerprinting done today for my background check. Should be getting my blue card from the BON in a week or so!
I have been accepted into Austin, and I'm so glad to finally find some classmates! I don't understand why they wouldn't share a contact list so we can become familiar with each other before the craziness begins, but if there's a will there's a way! I know orientation info will be sent out next month, and we had to submit our blue cards, but is there anything else we should be doing? I kinda feel like we have been left in limbo. The only other thing I'm working on is financial aid, which I'm sad doesn't cover the full amount, at least for me anyway, because we are in an accelerated program.
ckhrobison, my name is Katy and I initially was accepted to the 2016 Austin cohort but they have let me defer one year so I'll be starting in 2017! I can share with you about my admissions process and what I've learned up until this point. Here's my email below, this is probably the best way to reach me! :) Would love to keep up!
Hey there everyone! I also am applying to the program! I'm hoping my experience helps me out. I have previous volunteer experience in different areas, around 220 hours and I've worked in a psychiatric hospital for three years now. I will be taking my TEAS test soon. Does anyone know any good study material to go over to review for it? I am so nervous about getting in!

I used the study guide directly from ATI and it helped tremendously! It's a bit pricey but worth every penny.
Edit to add: I'm a current second degree student with the Dallas cohort. [emoji4]
