Texas Tech 2nd Degree BSN - Lubbock

Published

Hello everyone,

I am new to "allnurses.com". I could not find any recent info on Texas Tech 2nd Degree Program in Lubbock so I started a topic for the Lubbock campus. Please share any info regarding the application process, interview, etc.. I recently applied for August 2012 so now I'm just waiting.

Got my rejection letter today!!! hahaha. Good luck to the rest of you! Stay positive!

Hey guys,i got my acceptance offer yesterday for Lubbock campus, have you guys been accepted yet?

I got the turn down letter yesterday; this is ridiculous. Does anyone know d criteria for Lubbock selectn? I applied last year, made it to the awaiting list, but was later told that I cd'nt be admitted last year because of my limited nursing experience. They advised that I get some nursing exp and reapply either Spring or Fall 2012, an advice I followed, working as CNA/PCA from last year till date, only this year to be outrightly turned down. It's so disappointing becos I applied to just TTUHSC Lubbock.

Does anyone know of other universities that are atleast 75% online i.e ABSN (Accel BSN). Any offer of advice will be appreciated. I have bn a shadow of myself since yesterday, when I received td negative letter.

Yours in need, while I wish all the successful applicants best endeavors.

Hello Ebby and everyone else,

I regret to inform you that I also received a rejection email yesterday. I don't really know what I'm going to do now. I was so excited about this program so I know how some of y'all feel. I emailed ********* as the email suggested to be advised on how I can improve my chances of being accepted for future semesters. I haven't received a reply. I tried to look for other avenues but so far I have been unsuccessful. @brascoliosis we're gonna be ok.

Congratulations to all who receive an acceptance letter. Work hard and receive that BSN Degree. I just wish I was there with you all but that's life so I have to keep moving. Please keep me updated on your journey.

If you guys know of any other program that are currently accepting applications please let us know.

Thank you.

From what I heard getting to the interview process was no easy feat so I think accepted or not we are all stellar applicants. To those who didn't make it this round, PLEASE don't lose sight of your goals, every testimony started with a tribulation ;)

@brascoliosis Keep your head up and do lose sight of your goals I wish you all the best!

@Ebby That's unfortunate I know they said they took a holistic approach to applicants and considered them on different levels, so I made sure to mention things like being bilingual, or travelling abroad. I think mentioning all the things that make you YOU have an impact on their decision

@Mesreves I'm absolutely floored! I know you were a strong applicant and I hope you continue on this path...Tech was the THIRD school I applied to (including where I went for undergrad!) before getting admitted into a program so keep the faith! Stay in touch, I wish you all the best!

I agree that you should not get discouraged if you didn't get in this go round. I have applied to four other schools (one of those being twice) and was rejected from each of them and then managed to get in to Tech. I think each school really does not have any reason or rhyme to their acceptance program, just more so who they fill will be successful and balance their program out to be a well rounded program. I emphasized my study abroad program I participated in, my work while doing my undergrad and working with special needs children at an equestrian center. I think that's what got me through. I also think my TEAS score helped where my GPA was lacking.

Keep the faith, because I have definitely been where you have. But God works in strange ways and always has a plan and that perfect nursing program out there for you.

somebody asked about other accelerated programs:

Hello everyone,

I'm sorry I've been away. I have been working, finishing my pre-reqs, and applying to different programs. Thank you all for the encouraging words (@ ms.aggie12, kristiandoz, NoSweethrtOfTheRodeo, ...). Thank you MrSensitivity for the list of programs.I spoke with the admissions office (Dr. ******) and apparently I just need to complete my prereqs (so I've been told). I was encouraged to apply for the Spring semester so we'll see. I know many of you must be excited about the program because August is just around the corner so get ready for your exciting career as a nurse.
