Texas Tech 2nd Degree BSN - Lubbock

Hello everyone,

I am new to "allnurses.com". I could not find any recent info on Texas Tech 2nd Degree Program in Lubbock so I started a topic for the Lubbock campus. Please share any info regarding the application process, interview, etc.. I recently applied for August 2012 so now I'm just waiting.

Alright everyone! I think I completed my essay but I'm scared to submit it. I think I'm going to wait until tomorrow. I will review it a few times and then close my eyes as ms.aggie12 did and then submit it lol.

@kristiandoz. From what I've learned from these threads, apparently they ask general questions such as why do you want to be a nurse? Tell me about yourself and other questions are asked based on your essay. I'm not sure if this is true for everyone.

The 2011 thread said they asked a bunch of questions about why you wanted to go into nursing and how you felt you'd do in the program (online class experience etc.) I graduated last August and I've been working in a hospital since February. I'm hoping they'll really consider experience because I'm worried about my GPA. I did get a good TEAS score though, so maybe, that will help alleviate it some? All this waiting is nerve wracking.

I'm in Dallas, but I have friends and family in Lubbock, so relocating hopefully wont be too bad.

@cass1320. Don't worry I hear they look at everything when it comes to admissions. Just be ready to sell yourself at the interview. It's good that you have family and friends there. That will save you money on hotels. I'll be flying from Florida and I've never been to Lubbock. I hope to see you this week. Good luck!

Hello cass1320. I believe that my interview went well. I was fussing about nothing. I was interviewed by 2 ladies. They were both nice. -------- and -------- also told us what to expect. They are so nice. They ask why I wanted to be a nurse, why do I think I'll be successful in the program, how are my computer skills on a scale of 1-10. Do I have a support system while going through the program. and that was it. They asked me if I had any questions for them, they answered my questions and the interview was over. Afterwards you get to meet with current students. I asked them a lot of questions. Take advantage of that. I am interested in meeting somewhere I just wouldn't know where lol. How long are you in Lubbock for?
