Texas Tech 2nd degree accelerated BSN 2018

Published

Is it too early to start this thread? I couldn't find another one.

I am planning on applying to the TT 2nd degree BSN program in May in hopes to begin in January 2018.

Anyone else?? Anyone in the program currently or recently have any info to share?? Which location is everyone applying?

Thanks!!

Best of luck to everyone who has interviews the next couple of days! And to those who have already interviewed. :)

I have my interview tomorrow in Lubbock. I'm applying to the Dallas program and I had no idea it was that competitive! I have absolutely no clinical experience, unless you count having four children. I have been dreading this all week, but thank you for posting some of the questions.

How many of you already have your CNAs? Those who are in Dallas, where did you (or will you) get your CNA?

I also applied to Dallas and had my interview in Austin on 08/23. I work at UT Southwestern and got my CNA through Dallas Career Institute, they were the cheapest I could find at $550 for the course. Good luck!

Hi everyone, I'm so late to this game. I just found out about this board. I applied to be part of the Austin cohort. I think my interview went well and now it's just the waiting game. I do have plenty to distract me though. I am finishing up my last two pre-req classes as well as completing my CNA certification. I'll be already to go by the spring time that's for certain. I'm glad this forum is here. We are all in the same state of limbo, though we should be hearing something this month!

Best wishes everyone!

I spoke to a student in the holding room of the interview and she said they only had 1 drop out in the first week of classes at the lubbock location. My interview went great and I was also informed by that student that if a person has made it to the interview portion...its probably a 75-80% chance you are accepted into the program. I didn't count the number of interviews at the RR location, but there was a total of 79 held in Lubbock. 15 spots for Amarillo, 30 spots for Lubbock, 15 for Abilene, then I would assume the majority of the San Antonio, Midland/Odessa, DFW, and Austin all interviewed in Round Rock.

Dang!! That gives me a lot of hope. My fingers are crossed that we hear the first couple weeks of September, rather than later. I'm getting antsy!! í ½í¸¬

I believe I counted 84 sign-ups for the Round Rock interviews. Only 15 of those spots are for the Dallas cohort, though. If SA, Midland/Odessa, and Austin each had 15 as well, then it looks like you're just about right @txtech52... we're looking at about a 71% chance! Are we all going crazy here or is it just me? :-)

Can anyone who is currently in the program share his/her experience on the job prospects for new grads? I chatted with one of the doctors who received interviewees outside the interview room, and she said students usually are hired spot on at their clinical site if they want to work for them. I just want to hear from first-hand experiences.

Hello Everyone:

I have applied to the Dallas cohort for Spring 2018. I went through the interview process in Round Rock. I was wondering if anyone has any news about the acceptance emails i.e. received them, when they might come out, etc. Thank you all for the feedback.

Joclack, at my interview in Lubbock, I was given a folder with information that said admission decision emails will go out sometime in September. Looking at the forums from the last couple years, it looks like they usually send the emails within the first couple weeks of September. Good luck!

I thought I read in the folder some time in September.

Thank you. I received the same paper. I am just antsy, as is everyone else.
