Texas Tech FNP Spring 2014

Just wondering if any nurses out there have submitted applications for the spring 2014 FNP program. Would like to hear any information you have gotten from admissions office on how many people they plan to accept, and how long it will take them to send out acceptance/denial letters. Does anyone know if the distant education students or any students get to pick their clinical site or is it assigned to us?

I just got my rejection email a few minutes go :( I had a 4.0 in all BSN courses for nursing and have been an RN for 10 years. I guess there just aren't enough spots:) Time to find another online FNP school. Anyone with ideas I am all ears! :)

I got a denial email! I had a 3.8 nursing GPA.

Did anyone apply to the PNP program??? I got an acceptance email AND a rejection email! Did this happen to anyone else??? I'm a nervous wreck.

Hey Noodlemore! I just got my acceptance letter today too :) I'm torn though. I also got accepted into George Washington University's FNP program. It's a higher ranked school, takes 3 years to complete (keeps you under 6 credit hours), and the last year is no class work and only clinicals...Might be easier to continue working. However, tuition will be around 45k for the program AND I will have to make 3 trips to D.C. throughout the program.

Then there's UTEP. Takes 2 years to complete, gets intense with class work AND clinical at the same time. Is MUUUCHHHH cheaper.

Which should I choose? Thanks. For those that got in Congrats!!! Those that didn't...keep your head held high and keep on applying till you get in. One denial shouldn't stop you :)

Dyana143 congrats!! Did you already here from UTEP as well??? I would choose based on what is most important to you... time of completion, cost, or quality. I think with any online program the quality depends on the students input into their own education, so I am sure you will be fine. I've heard good things about Georgetown. Let me know about UTEP as I am waiting to hear from them as well:)
