Texas Tech Accelerated 2nd Degree Program 2021

I’m not sure if it’s too early to start this thread, but anyone on here planning on applying to Texas Tech’s Second Degree program in May?

I applied to San Antonio! I plan to move if I am accepted. I am unsure about the transcript evaluation. I received one and I was core complete. I believe not everyone gets one. I would not worry about it until after they send out interview invites. They will reach out with questions or concerns.

If one of our transcripts is still missing should we reach out? I think one of mine had a 30 day deadline of access, so I'm worried they're not able to access it and I'll have to resend it. I have been avoiding emailing but I'm not sure if I should email or not.

Hi flows67 I believe they said on one of the webinars that the admissions team knows that most schools have a 30 day time frame and they go in and print it off. However, since there is an ongoing pandemic and things are no where normal. I would definitely reach out to the admissions counselor to verify they received it. I hope and pray we all hear great news by the end of the day!! :) I'm so nervous yet excited!

I’m curious why many are hoping “today is the day” we hear some news. Is there something specific about this day that I missed?!

Hi Hannah, I think that someone had said that Fridays are typically the day they start contacting people about interviews. Also that they plan on holding interviews end of August/beginning of September, so if they are able to hold to that schedule, they would reach out soon. So everyone is just hoping that today is that Friday ? Don't worry though, if you don't hear anything, it may not be the day, we're just hoping for it!

I’ve applied to this program twice (I withdrew my application before interviewing in 2015 bc I had just found out I was pregnant then was actually accepted in 2016 but declined admission bc we were expecting baby #2). Both times, my interview invitation came via email in August 4! In 2015 that was a Tuesday and in 2016 it was a Thursday. So I don’t think they necessarily wait for a Friday! (Or at least they didn’t back then.) Still hoping to hear something soon!

Yeah you’re right last year they did send out around August 2-5 but I’m guessing since they have 300 more applicants since last year that May be why it’s taking longer time

I know many applicants still don't have transcripts checked off so it will probably be later this year ? I think they will tell us maybe the end of August/ First week of September about interviews.
