Texas Tech Accelerated 2nd Degree BSN 2019

Published

Hey, all

Wanted to start a thread for those applying to the Spring 2019 program.

What location will you be applying to? Anyone else in Austin?

Any information/advice from current students is appreciated!

Side note: I totally dig the red scrubs. :inlove: Haha

I'm working on my supplemental items now!!! How exactly did you guys submit copies of the documents (CNA Certifications, BLS, proof of graduation, etc?) just scanned pictures of the documents?

Specializes in MICU.
Hey sophiemicaela - I'll be applying to Austin...do you mind sharing where you got your CNA training? Choices are very limited in the ATX.

Hey so sorry I am just now seeing this. I went through Central Texas Nurse Network. It looks kind of shady but they're certified through the state and are an official testing site for the State Exam so it is nice because you'll be familiar with the location! The course is 3 weeks long and is $800. Feel free to email me at [email protected] if you have more questions and we can talk about it! I get licensed officially on July 11 but already have my certificate from CTNN that I uploaded with my application. They also have rolling admission every week so you could theoretically call them today and register this weekend and start Monday!

I scanned my diploma and uploaded it, I had my CNA school send me a scanned copy of my CNA certification, and AHA sent me my e-card for BLS through email so I saved the attachment as a PDF and uploaded it that way!

From what I was told by the admissions office, the transcript from the school you graduated from showing your degree earned is enough proof as far as the 'proof of Bachelor's degree' requirement goes. Same goes for the Med Term course/certification; they'll see it on your transcript if you didn't get an actual certificate :)

Patti emailed me today that she had updated all supplemental info on the applications.

I wonder how long after the app closes on Sunday before we start hearing about interviews. Last year it looked like it was around Aug. 4

Hope it's that soon this year, it's been a long wait!

Is it the Patho that also counts for UTS's RN program? I was going to apply to their program also. I wanted to take Patho through them as well but I only saw on-campus classes. Do you know how you found the online one?

Thanks!

Applied for Dallas as first choice & Austin as second. Just wanted to comment to stay updated on when interviews/acceptance emails start going out! :) Good luck everyone!!!

I applied for the Dallas location only. I am a mom of a two-year-old and a two-month-old so moving is out of the question. I graduated from Texas A&M in May with an overall GPA of 3.54 and a science GPA of 3.56. I made a 86.86 on the TEAS. I have 120 hospital volunteer hours, undergraduate research, organizations (1 professional, 1 for fun), and maintained a job throughout my 4 years at A&M. I am BLS certified and am currently enrolled in a CNA class right now. I am soooo nervous!

I'm curious! Does anyone know how many students are admitted to the Austin cohort? I chose Austin as my primary location and San Antonio as my second.

If y'all saw my earlier post, I am currently halfway through the program to graduate at the end of this year. I know it is really nervous applying and waiting to hear back So hopefully the following dates help give you an idea of the time frame give or take several days. We had the same application deadline of July 15th last year. I got my interview invite via email on August 2nd. My interview was scheduled third week of August. I received my offer of admission September 7th via email. Not sure how many people are in each cohort, but I know we have about 120 students statewide across all the cohorts this year. Each site differs in how many students are in each cohort and they are constantly expanding and updating the program, so numbers may change for 2019. Hopefully this is helpful to y'all and good luck!

Does anyone know how much weight the program gives your TEAS score? I know that UTA only needs above a proficient score and does not use the TEAS for ranking purposes
