I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!
Austin for me.
During my interview they said Dallas was the most competitive this year, with Austin being 2nd (it's usually 1st)... Their request for me to consider San Antonio says that they either 1) have too many candidates for the number preceptors and/or 2) not enough candidates for SA. YMMV

Yeah I bet they were seeing who all had wiggle room there and then plan accordingly. Seems like they want you though since they reached out to ask you that! @atxmitch

1) I feel like based on the forum from last year, the majority of students that received interviews were offered admission. It all seemed like a blur, but I honestly only remember maybe 3-4 people posting about not being offered a position. If you feel that your interview was strong, you probably have a really good shot of getting in! I have only personally known 1 student who wasn't offered admission on her first application and then got in the 2nd year she applied. The reason she wasn't offered a spot on the 1st go around is because during her interview, they asked her about her support system and she cried during this portion since her fiance's father had just been diagnosed with terminal liver cancer. So they deferred her enrollment so that she could be present with her family and didn't have the added weight of the program on top of everything. They really want to offer admission to students who will be able to tough out the 11 grueling months and want to retain 100% of the students.
2) Austin's cohort started with 30 students; we have 28 now! Of those 28 students, we have 4 VBSN students who have all remained in the program.
I hope this was helpful, hang in there guys!
Yes that helps SOOOOOO much thank you for responding. When they asked about my support system i was able to answer very quickly and with multiple scenario answer and I hope I got the point across that I wanted to, naturally in retrospect I wish there were things I had said that I did as I didnt want to appear to be rambling but I feel like it went well.

I applied to Abilene! I was also told they would take 20 for Abilene but it also depended on the faculty...? So I guess 20-30
