I haven't seen a thread for those of us applying May 1st to the January 2020 cohort. I'm wondering how heavily they weigh the TEAS. Also, I have heard as long as you meet all criteria they typically give you an interview. Has anyone else heard this? I really like how they take a holistic approach to grant admissions. I'm wanting to apply to UTA but I feel like the main way you get extra points is by attending school there which I did not do! We'll see!

Hey y'all,
Last year, we heard back right at the 3-week mark; hang in there, I KNOW it's agonizing. Some of you have reached out to me during this time of anticipation, and I just wanted to post on here what I have told some of you already:
There was a lot of changes in the SON over the Summer to Fall break. The Dean of the SON stepped down/retired over our break (which was when interviews were also conducted) and there was quite a bit of shuffling around in terms of authorities and getting new positions filled. This is probably what has contributed to the slight delay in sending out acceptance letters.
I know it is frustrating and everyone is trying to make plans for the future but it should all be over soon! Nobody has told our cohort anything about when you guys will hear news, so I wish I could be more helpful, but all I can do is encourage you guys and promise that the light is coming, hopefully this week to put your minds at rest.
Stay strong!
So... this is my first time ever posting. I watch the forum like a hawk, but just now signed up.
I’m like most of you, going crazy waiting, and waiting. I did email Cindy today and she responded that they “expect to send notices this week”, but they are not sure of which day. So it looks like more waiting.
So I am curious as I saw there is a current cohort student that has been great at replying to our many questions and attempting to keep our panic at bay. Did you feel like the number of student interviewed was the amount accepted or is each step of the process a narrowing of the pool of those actually accepted that applied. The reason I ask is I know they mentioned in the webinar that over 500 applied and of that only like 160 were picked for interviews? If I recall correctly. I only ask because by applying to this program I very much put all of my eggs in one basket. I am a veteran, I unfortunately have used most of my GI Bill up already taking pre-requisites. How is that possible you might ask? Well my husband is active duty and so naturally we have moved during my schooling when I started I was taking pre-reqs for schools in Ohio and then I had to completely switch and do pre-reqs for Texas. In doing so most of my GI Bill is used up but thankfully as I was born in Texas I am eligible for the Hazlewood Act which is tuition paid by the state to attend State Universities. This obviously narrows my school choices significantly as I can only go to State schools and since we are in San Antonio that means SAC(which is an ADN program and I already have an Associates degree), UTSA-HSC(massively competitive), UIW(private college not eligible for Hazlewood). TTU VBSN is kind of my golden ticket, its the perfect program to fit my needs and if I dont get in I really have to start reconsidering what I am going to do.
SOOOO, how many people are in the current cohort was it significantly less people than were interviewed? I mostly asked this as I was discussing the interview process and questions asked with a co-worker and they brought up the very good point of perhaps they only interview to ensure that you really want to be in the program?
Thoughts?
Also I have sent my blue card and got no reply and I sent a separate email with a question to Cindy and didnt recieve a reply.(its been over a month) Would yall suggest I call or send another e-mail? I dont want to bug them if they are readying acceptance letters.
@OhHeyItsPKThis is exactly what she said:
“We hope to have notices out this week, I can't say for sure what day.”
I sure hope it’s today, but that made me feel like it may be later in the week.
