Hello everyone! I currently submitted my application for my bachelor's in Nursing at Texas Tech in El Paso. I have a 4.0 GPA in my sciences, I got a 75 on my HESI, and I have no experience on medical field other than me having my CNA and my clinicals. It's really hard to get a job as CNA or volunteer hours in El Paso, in my opinion. I decided to post on here since there's not a post for Texas Tech BSN Spring 2017. Hopefully we can all let each other know when we get contacted for interviews and if we get accepted into the program and become friends:) Goodluck everyone!
CONGRATS TO WHOMEVER GOT ACCEPTED!! I also did, but I have no received any info about finger printing.
I am waiting to see if I got into NMSU also, so I can figure out which school I am going to, I am having trouble deciding between a traditional program vs. accelerated.
Any advice?
If you are ready to graduate quickly and do not really care for breaks between semesters, I would go with the Accelerated BSN option. However, from my understanding, non accelerated gives you a little more time to breath and gives you longer breaks, which is nice too. It really just depends what you prefer!
Hey Cynthia, I just wanted to reach out to you and let you know I wasnt accepted either.
I was really upset first but then I realized that this doesnt mean I wont make a great nurse one day.
It just means that this program wasnt a fit for ya :)
Keep trying. Im going to keep applying to nursing school, whether its texas tech or not, because nursing is where my heart is.
I saw on some other posts that people made a Facebook group with their specific campus to keep everyone updated on when they received got important information so no one forgets anything! Is that something y'all would want to do? If so does anyone know how to do it? Just a thought :)
Sounds like a good idea :)

I burst into tears during my interview..(on the first question).. don't feel bad lol. Idk if anyone else knows or has noticed, but there's is going to be a teaching hospital at the new hospital on transmountain. There will be tthscu nurses and med students. I believe that it says this on the website for the new hospital. My aunt is going to work at the main hospital and she also told me this! So exciting!
Plus I've driven by and there was a HUGE TT logo on the little hospital. There's the main hospital and then a little building next door and that's the teaching hospital. It's on the west side of transmountain if you all want to check it out.
I think that the fact that they're allowing nursing students to work right next to med students and their going to have their own teaching hospital is so impressive. I think GGHSON is definitely going to be a force to reckon with, as far as nursing programs in el paso. They're making their way to the top! I think TTUHSC EP is going to take over and I'm hoping and praying that I get in!
Is anyone else thinking ahead and making plans for just in case they dont get accepted?
