Hello everyone! I currently submitted my application for my bachelor's in Nursing at Texas Tech in El Paso. I have a 4.0 GPA in my sciences, I got a 75 on my HESI, and I have no experience on medical field other than me having my CNA and my clinicals. It's really hard to get a job as CNA or volunteer hours in El Paso, in my opinion. I decided to post on here since there's not a post for Texas Tech BSN Spring 2017. Hopefully we can all let each other know when we get contacted for interviews and if we get accepted into the program and become friends:) Goodluck everyone!

Hello!
I just applied for Texas Tech also. I think it would be really cool to keep each other in the loop with hearing things, etc.
I graduated with a 4.0 with all of my pre reqs done, except stats and psych. I am taking those online in the fall! Do you have any idea when we will hear back the first time?
I hope we can both help each other out :)

Hello, everyone. I have also applied for the Spring 2017. I have no working experience other than my clinical experience as a student. My stats are a 4.0 GPA and a 91% in the HESI. I hope all of us get accepted into the program! I'm so excited! I've heard that interviews occur in early or mid-October and students are notified if accepted about two weeks later.
My birthday is October 21! Hopefully we find out around then. We all sound like we have similar grades, and experiences. I really hope we all get in! I am planning on getting my CNA in the fall, has anyone been to or heard anything about Emerald nursing school? (i am not originally from El Paso) any advice would be appreciated!
Hello! Actually, that's where I got my CNA and it was a pretty good nursing school:) they know how to prepare you for the written and skills exam.

Are y'all doing the 2nd degree BSN program? We have another thread going about that. :)
Hard to find a CNA job?! Wow! They'll hand them out here! Our hospital is hiring! And another nursing home is offering a sign on bonus!
Oh my goodness that makes me feel SOO much better!
Is it pretty hard since it is only a month? Or is it doable with school too?
Does anyone have any idea when it would start? I got pushed out of my Statistics class, so now I am having to take a mini-mester that would not end until January 13.. I feel like that might be pushing it
