Texas State University Fall 2017

Published

I know applications are just going out but I thought I would start a thread so that anyone applying to Texas State this semester can share their stats/questions/comments

Im currently sitting at a:

Prerequisite: 3.55

Science: 3.39

Teas: 93 composite & 99th percentile

What about you guys?

And just remember there's a low turn out this year. Only about 200 applicants and about 50 of those aren't qualified. We have good odds

Where did you hear this? I like what I'm hearing of course. Just curious :)

There was a rumor that there was a low turnout last year too. It surprises me that they have a low applicant pool considering they are becoming more well known and gaining popularity. I wonder how many current TXST students apply and if we are given some sort of preference.

If you look on the website it states that some preference will be given and in previous comments. I'm not sure about the process, as I am also an applicant. I am transferring in but was told have to have over 30 hours to be considered internal transfer when I inquired, and that it was looked at.

Thanks, I found it on the website! I noticed they added some more information that wasn't there before. I've been at Texas State since I was a freshman and want to graduate as a bobcat so I just wondered if that was taken into consideration, but now I see that it is to some degree.

I know somewhere in the SON website it said Texas State students who took the majority of prereqs at San Marcos would be given some sort of preference over those who didn't. It probably won't mean you'll get accepted if you had a 2.0 GPA, but maybe a slight nudge over other students if you guys have similar scores but they went to community college instead.

I currently attend Txst and a have a big chunk of my pre-nursing friends who didn't even apply at St. Davids because they didn't meet the requirements.

Does anyone know how many people they accept?

If you look on the website it shows statistics of the past years. Has been 100 each year so far. I'm assuming that hasn't changed.

Thankfully I meet the requirements, but I'm sure there are people who meet the requirements and still don't get accepted.

I heard it from my advisor and other students with different advisors

Are the two numbers your two attempts or is that first number averages for this year's applicant pool? Wishing I would have taken mine a second time for sure.
