I just wanted to start a general conversation thread for applicants to the St. David’s school of nursing program at Texas State for fall of 2019.

Hi!

I turned in my application on the 15th and I just got an email today that they rec'd my app. Did you get an email for the background check yet?

I also turned in my application on the 15th and got the email today that it has been received.

To my understanding, background check requests are sent somewhat sporadically to everyone who meets qualifications.

Hey Guys sooooo I think there is like at least 3 threads going for fall 2019 LOL

so how do you guys feel about your personal statement?

I know mine had a few grammar errors >_<

I wish I had more time to apply I was taking practically all my science courses last semester and getting ready to graduate I have been sooooo busy and I didn't have all the time I was expecting to

Yeah, I noticed the same thing about the 3 threads lol.

I finished all my pre-req by last semester too, my TEAS score wasn't as good as yours either(from other thread).

I haven't get background check email either :O

??‍♀️ I noticed another thread right after posting this. Oops!

I’m always a bit awkward when talking about myself. Otherwise, I feel decent about my personal statement.

The waiting game is soo difficult, y’all!

In previous years the Texas State threads were so active at this time. Idk what that means! Lol

I know someone speculated last year that bc there was little activity it might mean less people applied, but that wasn't the case.

Has anyone received a background check email?

Noooooo I have not received it yet!! Have you!???? I feel like more and more people apply each year and it’s getting more competitive I’m so nervousssssss

I haven't received one yet either. I agree, it seems every year the number climbs. The Prereq GPA last year was 3.56 and I'm not near that so I'm not really expecting to get in.

Well I don’t think everyone that got in had that GPA I think there is always hope. How are your teas scores?

I made an 89.3 overall

Reading - 91.5

Math - 96.9

Science - 83

English - 79.2

98th percentile

So I think that's pretty average for Txst
