2018 Lone Star ADN Hopefuls - Spring

Hey there!

I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.

I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.

In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!

If you have the time, I'd say to retake it to make it a bit more competitive. 7.04 I'd think would maybe sit around the "alternate" scores. I'm leery at my 7.376 myself!

Well I had just typed a bunch and it apparently got lost in the internet black hole, lol!

I go on Wednesday to meet with my Advisor to turn in my application. I was told via email that this year everything will be turned in online. Also, there's a new requirement, they want a sealed copy of your High School transcript. Just an FYI, this is what the Kingwood campus told me.

Taking both of those classes in the summer, together, will be very challenging, since there's so much material to cover, that's why I would just concentrate on 1 and garantee an A. But if you can pull off an A in both classes, then yes, I'd totally do it. I work full time and have kids, that's why I'd be a little unsure about doing those 2 classes in the summer. Good luck, hope you get those As!

I have three children and I worked and went to school full-time as well. I no longer work because I decided to devote all my time to becoming a nurse. It's been a challenge mentally, physically, emotionally, and financially but it'll all be worth it once I become a nurse!

Hi Liz, yes, you're right, everything is online now. I didn't know about the sealed copy of the high school transcript, I just uploaded an unofficial copy of it. I guess if they need anything else they will contact me?

I took my high school deploma outside of USA Anyone knows if they will accept the translated copy of it, or did anyone have same situation, I submitted it once I applied for lone star for credit class and they accept it but don't know if they will accept it in nursing program. Please I need your help on that

As long as it's translated, I don't see why they would have a problem with it. Try calling the nursing department, they actually answered yesterday. Or you can always email them, they have been replying to my emails.

Hey there! I am currently on the alternate list for the ADN program. I plan to reapply for the spring. I am retaking my A&P starting 7/13 in hopes for an A and retake my HESI for a higher score as well. I'm hoping to get in the alternate but I dont want to miss out on trying to get a higher score for the Spring! Good luck everyone!

Didn't we turn in our HS transcript when we first applied to the college. Why are they asking for that again?

I am applying for Spring 2018 ADN. I originally planned to apply to UT Health, but I need more flexible scheduling options and Lone Star seems to offer that. I am applying to the CyFair location. I have completed A&P I with a B and starting Engl 1301 tomorrow for Summer 6W2. I'm scheduled for the Hesi on August 8.

I am going to apply for Spring 2018 in Kingwood. I am going to retake english to make an A and also retake my hesi to score higher. If I do all of the retakes it will put me at a 7.1. Still not sure if thats enough but I cant do no more in such short time.
