I wanted to start this page for anyone who is applying for the Spring 2018 Lone Star ADN or LVN program! I've seen previous posts, from previous years, and everyone was really helpful and encouraging to one another.
I am taking A&P 1 over the summer (starts 7/13) and then I will be submitting my application!! Im so nervous. I already took the HESI and got a score on 90.8%, which gives me and 3.6 on the point scale. I have an A in Eng 1301 and hope to get an A in A&P this summer.
In the fall I am taking A&P2 along with Micro (ugh). So if anyone else is in the same boat, let me know!!!
@lizfrank... Thank you, Liz! I know the fall is going to be extremely challenging. I asked both my nursing friends about taking both A&P2 and micro at the same time, and they both said it is doable, and it would give me a sneak peek into what nursing school would be like. They said it'll be hard, but it can be done. Doesnt change the fact that I am nervous about it, and if it becomes too hard, I may have to wait and take one of them over. We'll see.
@heatherbrowntx Hi Heather, I just applied to Lonestar Cyfair today. I will also be taking AP2 this Fall. Good luck on AP1, it is a lot of material, and you pretty much will have to study every day if you want an A. It is doable though. Now the waiting game begins for me since we won't know if we got accepted until late September.
What days/times are you taking A&P2?? I am taking the night course, 6:30pm - 10pm I think. My micro class will be during the day.
Hey there! I am currently on the alternate list for the ADN program. I plan to reapply for the spring. I am retaking my A&P starting 7/13 in hopes for an A and retake my HESI for a higher score as well. I'm hoping to get in the alternate but I dont want to miss out on trying to get a higher score for the Spring! Good luck everyone!

don't worry you can do it i did both micro and AP2 and two other classes i got A in all of them, plus i am a mom and wife don't stress out too much just don't procrastinate

So glad you posted this because I am taking A&P II, Micro, Engl 1301, and Pharmacology right now. I'm al a mom of three so my head is about to explode! I pray that I make A's in all of my classes as well!
Thats awesome @zineb21!! That's very encouraging! I am a mom of 3, and those are the only two classes that I am taking in the fall, so I hope I do well!!
just do all what you have to do on time or ahead if you can that's what helped me also if you didn't understand something in class look for it in youtube. i used to do that especially in microbiology since it is a new subject and that helps me a lot and got A in all the exams
I think that is a great score!! Im working my butt off to get an A in A&P1 right now, and if that happens, my score would be 7.6. Not that much higher than yours.
Liz, Im not sure how many people get accepted into CyFairs program, but what comes to mind is 50....I think that is what my advisor said, but cant remember. 80 would make me feel better!
