Texas Health Resources Graduate Nurse Residency applications opened yesterday for the Spring ‘22 cohort so I wanted to start a new thread. Anyone apply yet and for what units?

Don't lose hope! I am an external applicant and got an offer. Also, go ahead and email the recruiter.  They have access to see if the specific unit you are interested in has all the people they need or if they are truly looking into you, and you may be able to set up an interview. 

Just remember that there are few recruiters going through at least a thousand applications and dealing with nonstop emails from HR, unit managers, students, etc.

Doesn't hurt to email just to know what's going on!  Good luck! ?

You’re an angel!! Thank you for being so sweet. I emailed a recruiter and IDK what locations she’s the recruiter for but she basically said I should wait to see if I get any emails related to interviews and that my applications are still active. Do you have any other recommendations? I’m scared to be too pushy and annoy them. Also, congrats on your offer!! What location/unit?

@tacosforlife I had my interview today! I'm not sure how many people they are interviewing but they said they only has one spot. I was quite discouraged but I think my interview went well.

you interviewed with THR arlington NICU today? I’m so sad I didn’t even get an interview ?

Sorry, I meant to tag you! Yes I did. It was very competitive, don't feel bad! I didn't hear back from any other NICU locations I applied to though. I'm not sure if they're doing more interviews next week.

it’s OK!! kinda disappointing because it still says my application is under review and I’m confused. Did you apply to southwest NICU and did you hear back by any chance? I also applied to HEB & alliance, L&D and didn’t hear back. so upset ?

I got rejected from L&D at Dallas I think. Haven't heard back from SW NICU or any other NICU openings at THR besides Arlington. My application still says under review but I feel like now that it will continue to say that ?

NICU is so insanely competitive. I haven’t heard from THR southwest either. I’ve pretty much given up on the idea of having a job because I don’t wanna work in any other units besides women’s haha

I have a job in mom/baby offered to me but I REALLY love the NICU. It is so crazy competitive. When she told me they had 1 spot I immediately just convinced myself I didn't get it so I wouldn't get my hopes up LOL

Congrats!! What location for mom/baby? Also what interview questions did they ask you if you don’t mind me asking?

Its with BUMC so another hospital chain. And they asked very general questions. Super easy interview! Negative/positive qualities, tell me about yourself, etc.
