Hi everyone! Haven't seen a thread for this application cycle so just thought I'd start one. I am applying to UTHealth, Baylor, TCU, and LSU for 2021 start.
My stats are:
GPA: 3.60
GRE: 315 (Q 158/V 157/W 4.5)
CCRN: 104/125
BLS/ACLS/PALS
1.5 years MICU/SICU
So nervous!! (especially for those interviews!!)

Congrats!

I had an individual interview with the clinical coordinator and one of the professors. It went really well! The first half was them just talking about the program and making jokes and just trying to know me. Staff was super friendly and made me feel very comfortable. They told me they were going to ask me clinical questions that are intended to stump people and that they don’t expect you to know the answers to them. The questions were very basic regarding peep, what is succ? Trace the flow of blood through the heart. They wanted to see your critical thinking but the questions were not hard. I was able to steer the conversation to talk about my specialty and it went really !
@1989anp congrats! Looking forward to meeting you next fall!
Awesome! I'm happy for you and thanks for sharing. Which clinical site did u match with? I'd rly like the Colton site.

Congrats to you too! Would u mind sharing about about your application package?
I'm applying with a 4.0 nursing GPA, but 2.57 previous degree. 318 GRE and 4.5 writing. CCRN and going to take the cmc and tcrn next week. 1 year and a few months of experience in a surgical trauma ICU.

I had everything submitted on 9/3 but got an email from Tex Wes that my application will be reviewed for Jan interview because October interview spots were full. They told me they would start sending out invites in Nov to early Dec. Have you heard anything back?

Yeah texas Wesleyan was my top choice due to their reputation. I've had some people tell me to go by cost of living and the cost of the program but or course I'd rather pay more if the education is better

Yeah of course! I had one year CCU experience in May so it will be a little over 2 yrs by the time the program starts. I got my CCRN a few months ago and am currently taking the required chem class and will be done with it in 2 weeks. I thought it would show initiative to already be in a class when they interviewed me instead of waiting.
My other background info includes a bachelors in biology and a masters in biology. Both had GPAs around 3.7. Then I have my nursing degree which was around 3.6 GPA. My GRE was a 305 with 4.0 writing. I also used to teach A&P classes at a local college for 2.5 years.

Could you share a bit about your application details? It looks like we have a similar ICU background in the Surgical Trauma ?
