Hey everyone, let me know how your application and interview process goes! I am applying to TCU and TWU!
My stats are:
3.61 GPA, 303 GRE + 4.5 writing, 1.8 months general ICU, Level II Trauma center. And I will be taking my CCRN as soon as testing centers reopen!
I know my stats aren't the greatest but I'm hoping I get in! I did take Gen Chem 1 & 2 and make A's in both.
Planning on applying to TCU this May however my app will look a little different because of COVID. My GRE date was cancelled so hopefully I will be able to take the exam later in May to send off.. if not I guess we will see how I fair?
3.5 GPA
4.5 years med surg trauma ICU
CCRN/CNRN/TNCC/TCAR
Took Chem 1/2 and got A’s this time around and am finishing up Organic Chem.
good luck y’all! Hope we all get in!

Anyone have any suggestions or anyone I can shadow? It's been extra difficult with Covid-19 going on as well.
That's unfortunate! I work at a university teaching hospital and there is a specific person in the anesthesia department to contact for shadowing requests and a couple forms to fill out and then they set it up for you. I already knew who I wanted to shadow because we have quite a bit of contact with CRNA's in the SICU so I literally just asked one of them one day and she was cool with it, so I found out her schedule and specifically requested her when I filled out the forms. As far as the COVID-19, that's probably having more of an impact than anything. When things settle down, is there someone in the education department that you can speak to face to face? I'm assuming you don't frequently come into contact with CRNAs, so is there a way you can find one to talk to.. friend of a friend maybe? If all else fails, can you email the school you are applying to and see if they have any resources? Maybe you could shadow one of the faculty members if they are also a currently practicing CRNA. I see you are at a level 2 trauma center, so if you're not in the SICU, see if you can pop over and have some contact with some CRNAs!
Hey guys,
I just recently submitted my TCU app and found this thread. I decided to join because I feel like we can keep each other in check with all of the uncertainty going around. Good luck to everyone and please share any information you guys figure out about the process. I will do the same.
