Texas Christian University (TCU) CRNA 2024

Published

Hello everyone! Applications for TCU CRNA have opened for Spring 2024. I was looking for a forum for this application cycle but didn't see one and decided to start one! I am working on my application and studying for the GRE currently. Best of luck to everyone!

Did any of y'all get a reply when y'all sent in the passport style photo to Kimberly? Wasn't sure if she received mine

I asked for a confirmation, but I did not get one. I'm assuming she got it and it's all good.

I got a confirmation email just stating it was received from her.

For those invited for an interview, are you mostly preparing for an emotional based interview?

Also when do you guys interview? Mine is Tuesday

I'm trying to prepare for both. I'd love to know from more current TCU students their experience with the interview last year. I have heard they're not super clinical but who knows? I think they want to see how you respond in stressful situations and try to simulate stressful scenarios to see your response/reaction. I'm doing the best I can to prepare myself but it's definitely tough. My interview is on Thursday @8am. So I might be some of the last ones they'll interview.. How are you preparing??

Mine is Wednesday at 8am. I've also heard they're not super clinical so I'm mostly preparing for emotional questions. I'm expecting more of those types but also I don't really know how to prepare for clinical questions. I do have an interesting clinical case study/example of a patient I took care of that I'm able to speak about in depth if they ask about a complex patient, but otherwise it's just going to be experience and CCRN knowledge on the clinical question front... ?

From my interview experience, I would recommend being able to talk about any clinical scenarios or meds you bring up during the interview. I was asked an open-ended question about a clinical scenario, and then got one follow up question about a med I mentioned. I've heard others had more clinical questions, but I haven't talked to anyone who got a lot of clinical questions.

How long is each interview? I feel like I e heard 10 minutes for each but that seems shorter than expected.

15 minutes interview time total between my two interviews.

Really??? And you're currently at TCU?

Yes, it may have been slightly longer, but not much. The second interview was shorter than the first. I'm currently in the online portion, and didactic starts in 3 weeks. ?
