Hi guys! I wanted to start this thread for the upcoming residency program at Texas Children's. Has anyone heard anything about when the application will open?

I have not heard anything about when it will open, but I am hoping it is soon! Today I noticed the residency page no longer exists ;/. Maybe they are updating it?
I got a return email, from my follow-up on when the application would open. They said that the application opens on March 8th and will close on March 15th. The application process also requires your current resume, unofficial transcript, a personal mission statement – 500 words or less, and 2 letters of recommendation (one from a pediatric/obstetric clinical instructor). I hope that helps!! Best of luck to everyone!

I heard people are starting to get calls from TCH! Have y'all heard anything yet?
I haven't heard anything. Do you know what units? Have you heard anything?
I haven't heard anything either... From what I saw on another allnurses thread they ask you what units you're interested in when they call (because it didn't ask that on the application).
Someone else said: "Someone from TCH called and asked what are the top two units that I’m interested in, what my GPA was, and what grade I got in pediatrics. Just letting y’all know to be prepared ? "
OK, thanks for the heads up! Best of luck!!
What is your top unit choice @cmtownsend98?

Med/surg! What about you?
I just got a call! They said they will call back by the 26th to tell us if we got an interview or not. So to me it sounds like everyone will get this first call? & Best of luck to you too!!
Hematology/Oncology would be my top choice!! Did they say if all units are hiring? Hmm... that's an interesting way of doing this – you would have thought they would have just put unit choices on the application, rather than calling everyone.

They acted like they didn't have a list of which units are hiring yet. When they asked me to pick my top units, I asked which units are available and they said "We don't have a list of options, just pick which 2 units would be your dream job"...
And yeah I think it's really weird too. I could be wrong and they may not call everyone, but that's the impression I got based on what they said! It sounded like they just needed the additional information to add to our application before they review it. But I agree, I don't know why they wouldn't have just asked what unit we want on the application?
OK, thanks for all the information!!
