Hi all!
Didn't see a thread started for spring 2020 so I thought I would start one! The application opens soon, yay!
So a little about me, I have a previous bachelors degree from the University of Texas. I have 2 prerequisites left to complete (statistics and A&P II). My nursing science GPA is 3.8 and I take the HESI in a few weeks. I am applying for the Round Rock campus, I live in Austin now and am a stay at home mom while finishing up my prerequisites. I am so nervous! I do not currently have any hospital experience or volunteer work which I hoping to find somewhere soon to start. Would love to hear from anyone else applying to the program ?

I am! Hoping for the college station campus, but I’m flexible.
I have a BS and MS, both in biology.
3.44 cumulative GPA
3.83 prereq GPA
4.0 Nursing science GPA
98.29 HESI
100 A&P
96 Biology
100 Chemistry
98 Grammar
100 Math
96 Reading Comprehension
98 Vocabulary
910 on critical thinking
Those are great stats! I just took my HESI and I got a 93.2 overall, so happy I got the average acceptance score. I'm curious where everyone else who is applying is at since the application closes soon lol

I am applying to the Round Rock campus, and I'm so nervous because I don't have a back up plan school right now. I just submitted my application in Nursingcas and it's been verified. I'm waiting on the communication from TAMU to start my Apply Texas application.
I'm also a stay at home mom working on my prerequisites after leaving teaching. I only have chemistry left. I have a liberal arts degree from The University of Texas. Stats - 3.9 overall GPA, 4.0 nursing science GPA, 97 overall HESI. I only have a little bit of healthcare experience from volunteering at Dell Children's for a semester. If I don't get in this round, I think I'll get my CNA from ACC, work for a year, and try again. Fingers crossed though!
Has anyone been contacted by TAMU to start the Apply Texas application after submitting nursingCAS? I feel so anxious about this multistep process, like I might mess up some small detail. I just submitted nursingCAS on Friday, so I'm not expecting anything yet. I'm just wondering how long I should wait before getting concerned.
I haven't been contacted yet by TAMU, I submitted my application about 10 days ago and it says that it is verified. I am going to go ahead and start my ApplyTexas application soon though to get it done with. It says on the website that if we don't hear from them by October 1st to contact the university.

Hello, everyone! Finishing up my application for the Spring 2020 program. My stats:
3.55 prereq gpa
4.0 science gpa
87.6 HESI exam
My HESI is slightly under the 90 that I was shooting for, so I hope my other prereq gpa's can make up for it. My undergrad was in music. I was a high school/middle school band director for 7 years, and have been a federal law enforcement officer for two years since. No hospital experience.
Good luck to everyone.

Hi there! Did anyone get an email from A&M to start apply texas app yet? If so, how long did it take to get the email? I just submitted my nursingcas app yesterday so just wanted to get an idea how long it would take to hear anything.
I submitted mine on the 12th and still haven't heard anything from them. Apply Texas isn't due till October though so I'm thinking it might take a while.
Thanks for responding! Yeah I was thinking they probably will wait till after the application window closes then start contacting applicants.

Overall GPA: 3.34
HESI reading comp: 94
Grammar: 96
Vocab & knowledge: 92
Math: 98
A&P: 88
Overall HESI: 93.6
Year and a half experience as a CNA in a hospital
How many apply to this program usually? And do they still only accept 23 for each campus? Good luck to everyone!
Last spring, TAMU listed there were about 246 applicants. It said they accepted 23 students for each campus. However, when I went to the information session, the coordinator mentioned they were going to try to accept closer to 30 students at each campus, but i don't know if that was for sure.
