Texas A&M College Station Summer 2011 program

I have not seen any updated posts for those of us who are applying or have applied to the Texas A&M School of Nursing program so I wanted to get an idea of if any of you here applied and what the current status is. I applied and have sent the additional information they requested as well as the background check required. Anyone else?

I took care of all of that stuff about a month ago. I still haven't heard anything from them reguarding my current status.

I hope we hear something soon. I check the website they provided everyday and its been the same thing. I have an interview with UT Houston so i am hoping I can hear back from A&M around the same time I hear back from UT.

Haven't heard anyting yet from TAMU. I think the interview with UT went ok, it was hard to tell what the interviewer thought of me but I did my best.

Go to a different school. TAMHSC is disorganized, expensive, and wastes a lot of time.

I graduate in May 2010.

Hope you get in somewhere else!

If not, then no worries, you will graduate from TAMHSC with a BSN and that is all you need. You will learn, but it will be a long process of scheduling, scheduling and more scheduling.

I hear the UT accelerated program is ROUGH - go generic for UT Houston. My friend goes there and says is super hard.

Don't waste your time or money going to either accelerated or generic UT-Houston. It is was too political there with the faculty, and they make the course work more difficult for you to succeed than it really is. I was enrolled there and not am applying to Texas A&M which ive heard much better things about. I seriously feel that some of the UT faculty are determined to go above weeding out people and deliberately failing out A/B students. I truly did not enjoy my time at Ut-Houston. Anyhow thats my two cents, good luck!

the TAMHSC is an absolutely awesome program. Yes, it may be disorganized at times but that is because it is a new program and they are trying to make it the best possible. The professors are helpful and easy to talk to, from my experience. I feel that any nursing school program is what you make it. It is hard work and takes much dedication. No one will hand you opportunities and just give you A's in classes. You have to work for it. The simulation center is great as well as the standardized patients (actors that portray patients). These two things give us opportunities to deal with various situations that we may not experience during our clinical time.

Hi there!

I just applied to TAMHSC and wanted to see if you knew the what the average HESI score is along with average science and overall gpa's for an applicant. Any input would be great...maybe it might put mine and others minds at ease while we wait.

Has anyone heard back from TAMHSC for Fall 2011 yet? I still haven't received the supplemental application although they did email me a couple of weeks ago stating that it would be mailed out soon.

When did you submit your application? I ne'er received that email but there is a rumor going around that it will be sent out in March. We have another forum with summer 2011 applicants...come join us!!!
