Hi everyone. I am going on vacation in a couple weeks. I have submitted my request in recovery trek and it is approved. I was told by TPAPN to continue to check in and bring COC forms and be prepared to test throughout the vacation. I searched for testing sites near where we are staying but the closest one is about 30 miles and across a toll bridge back on the main land. That stinks. I guess I will have to rent a car if I get tested, correct? I really thought they did not make you test while on vacation but to be prepared to test as soon as you got back. Is this just how it is? I get selected 3 times a month every month it seems.. I have been selected once this month already.
I am only like 1/6 of the way through TPAPN and feeling really defeated! I sound like a whiner but am kind of bitter. My sponsor tells me to suck it up lol.

Yeah. I would call ahead to the potential place and make sure they understand/will be able to do the testing. Explain your circumstances -- that it needs to be an observed split specimen. Have had some peers who ran into trouble when the places they picked for vacation didn't do observed tests...

My first vacation request they denied because it would have been 2+hour drive but that was early in my contract toward the end I went on a cruise and my CM said I had enough good time they suspended my test for that week so I can change

That's generally how it works. Just hope and pray you won't have to deal with going to test. I've had to travel 2 hours to test before so you can do it.

Yup, gotta check in every day and be willing to drive whatever length necessary to test. Whether or not you'll ever be picked though is a different story. I started probation for the California BON in May and had already planned a trip to DC/NYC prior to getting my notice from the board. Fortunately, First Lab had sites close to or in both cities and I never actually got selected while I was out there. It's a minor stress but honestly not that bad, at least we can still go right?
Unfortunately international travel is another story. I've put all plans to vacation outside of the country til 2019 when my probation is over. I'm planning a backpacking trip to Europe once I'm done with probation since I've never been and it'll coincidentally be the year I turn 30. Something to look forward to while we slog through all these board requirements. Keep your head up, we all share your pain
Well, I feel better. I am hoping and praying that I don't get called 2 times in the week like I have been lately. The past few months have been literally back to back days or something like a Monday then the Friday of the same week. I want to cringe at the amount of money being made off of me by 3rd party companies I know I know, I totally deserve it and am blessed by the second chance!
