testing this Thursday....so nervous!

Published

I'm taking my boards this Thursday at 8am. To say I'm nervous is an understatement. I've been studying Kaplan the past 4 weeks and studying the prioritization book as well. Tomorrow is my last study day. I'm taking Wednesday to clear my mind and try to relax my brain. Any last minute words of encouragement or advice?? Any is greatly appreciated :)

I hope so too!! I can't believe I'm testing tomorrow morning. I'm starting to get butterflies on my stomach.

goodluck to the both of us! What are your preps today? I keep telling myself that i wont do questions but i keep on looking at my phone and answer a one or two questions. Haha

I've been studying everyday for the past 4 weeks. I'm not picking up any books lol I'm trying to relax and decompress so I'm fresh tomorrow morning. My husband is even getting up with me in the morning to give me a little pep talk and encouragement before I head out the door.

You guys will do great!! Positive thinking is a wonderful thing!

I tested last Thursday, and my RN license posted to the CA BRN website on Saturday morning. I only studied about three weeks prior to testing, including taking a Kaplan course offered through my college. I definitely went into it feeling confident. Don't be worried or surprised if you feel bad or doubt yourself when the computer turns off, though!! I had 90 questions and then the test turned off, and I wasn't 100 percent sure how I had done! That test makes you question your knowledge at times, that is for sure! :-)

Good luck!!!!

I am relaxing. Here and there I am running through lab values, or reviewing the set up for drug calc., and a few questions here and there from PDA. Nothing that is making me feel crammed or trying to learn new things. I wish I could do absolutely nothing, but I would get nervous and thats the last thing I want. Remember to get a good sleep, and if possible eat a small breakfast! (Nothing too large, my friend took it today and vomited before and after taking the exam.)

Nice! Again, goodluck and we'll be RNs by the end of the week! We got this! Woooot!

Ahhhh! This is it!!! Goodluck guys! The anxiety is killing me!!! Ughhhh!! We got this!

Good luck, Thursday testers!

LoveNeverDies - you can have NOTHING with you when you test, aside from your ID, plastic number they give you, and the locker key they give you - and those have to stay out on your desk with the whiteboard and pen. I had to pull my pockets inside out to prove they were empty, push my sleeves up to my elbows and show them my arms, and frisk myself to show I had nothing in my waistband. No gum chewing is permitted. They did let me bring a tissue (one of theirs) in with me, but it also had to stay on the desktop. They aren't playin' at Pearson!

Did everyone do well? I stopped at 75, got the good pop up and a few hours later my license was posted!

What state are you in? I got 75 questions and the good pop up but still no license on state Board site. Took mine at 8am today.

PA, which is normally pretty good about it. Some states take a few days or longer. My friend took it with me and called because hers was not up a few hours after mine. They told her they work on them in the order they get them from different testing locations. (Not sure how accurate that is, but that is what she said.) (I finished at around 835, she around 1215.) Hers are still not posted.

I'm in Florida. Mine must be one of the slow States. I finished at 930 am this morning. Mine unfortunately probably won't be up till Monday or Tuesday.

Specializes in ICU/CCU.

Congrats RNs. How did u guys prep for the test? any tips or suggestion? TIA
