  1. Totally understand where you are coming from. However, I believe that people who have never been through nursing school themselves cannot fully understand how stressful nursing school actually is. Your fellow classmates will understand and can be a great support system!
  2. Sorry I posted twice. I meant to respond to SeattleJess and somehow screwed it up, lol. ;-)
  3. I bet your nursing class will become your second family! That's what happened to us in nursing school! I was not one of the youngsters either (I just turned 39), but our entire class became very close during thous two years and we still all communicate and get together when we can. I wish nothing but the best for you!!! :-)

  5. I graduated in May, and one of my closest friends in the nursing program was 60 when we graduated! And she passed NCLEX this summer, just a week after I did! Positive vibes to you, and may your dream come true, too!!!!
  6. I live in CA, graduated in May, and took NCLEX June 26. I found out two days later that I was an RN! The nursing board is not nearly as overwhelmed as it was for my friends who graduated in December. Either way, good luck! :-)
  7. Do not freak out!! I got 34 percent on that test, and passed NCLEX on the first try in June. I thought the Kaplan SATA questions were much harder than the NCLEX ones! Good luck!!
  8. I was fortunate in the fact that my college has some sort of grant through Kaplan, so students are able to take the course for free. I do feel it helped me, and I passed NCLEX-RN on the first try. The story might be different if I had to pay for it myself! lol
  9. I was typing my response when RunBabyRN was doing theirs. We were thinking the same thing! ;-)
  10. Congrats!! Of course it's not 100 percent, but some of us live in states that don't participate in quick results (like CA). I got the good pop-up and did pass, but had to wait for my license to be posted on the BRN page. Just a question, though: Did you actually enter your information on the first couple pages when attempting to re-register for NCLEX? Because you HAVE to enter some information (a couple pages worth, if I remember correctly). If it lets you continue on to the credit card page, then that is usually the bad screen. Anyway, great job!! Being an RN definitely is the best feeling! :-)
  11. Honestly, nursing school is stressful enough without studying for NCLEX at the same time! I graduated in May, and started studying for NCLEX right after. I tested June 26, and found out June 28 that I was an RN. I don't think studying for NCLEX during school would have worked for me. Nursing school teaches you the content. Studying for NCLEX teaches you what is "correct" in NCLEX world. Often, NCLEX world and the real world do not match up! LOL Just my two cents!
  12. Some of my classmates got their ATT really fast (myself included). At least seven of them are still waiting for the ATT. And of those who have tested, a few received license numbers within two days, while others waited more than two weeks. There really is no rhyme or reason to it. One of my classmates was an LVN, and she received her license less than a week after testing. Good luck!! :-)
  13. I am also in California. I took NCLEX-RN on June 26, 2014, and my license posted on the Breeze website the morning of June 28, 2014. So for me it wasn't even 48 hours later. I received my license in the mail the following week. So it can really vary!!!
  14. No clue. I was one of the lucky ones, I guess. The ones who haven't received theirs yet have lots of tickets on their record, and one had an arrest. So we think that is holding things up.
  15. At one point, some of my classmates were considering testing for licensure in Oregon (we live just a couple hours from the border), but they were talked out of it. No matter which way you go, there are going to be hoops to jump through! It sucks, but that's what it is. :-)
