Testing

Nursing Students NCLEX

I am just curious as to the best way to prepare for NCLEX has been for those of u who have already taken it, I want to get the most preparation in? I am taking the test roughly a month after graduation.

A month is a good amount of time. I took (and passed my nclex) about a month and 10 days after I had graduated. Make yourself a study schedule and don't go crazy with too many study books, especially when there is so many other (cheaper resources) to utilize. I also made myself study packets, which ended up becoming really helpful, so I'm thankful that I did.

Choose ONE program, maybe a second so you'll have one different kind of study guide for some rounding-out, but don't get caught up in using a half dozen different programs/manuals or you'll just confuse yourself. Keep it simple.

Set up a study schedule, like loveoverpride mentioned. DO A LOT of questions each day. I'm talking at least a hundred; people who did this seem to have fewer issues over readiness than those who did a few dozen and bagged it until the next day.

Know yourself, and pay attention to what you are finding out when you begin preparation. If your content is lacking, focus on a program that is content-based (I hear Hurst is well-liked). If you have content down, but need to learn how to best strategize/prioritize, Kaplan is a good bet. Others will have more suggestions for you; LaCharity is also a popular tool.

Whatever you do, don't psych yourself out! People come here pretty regularly using the phrase "I'm freaking out!!" and there's not much we can do to help because, well....freaking out isn't conducive to learning ;)

Good luck!
