Test on July 15 2015 HELP

Nursing Students NCLEX

Published

Hey guys!!!

I take my test in 10 days and I am nervous (like everyone else). I have been studying every single day for 1 1/2 months for about 4-8 hrs depending on the day. Literally would wake up eat, study, eat, study, eat, study sleep. I know I sound crazy But I am not the best test taker so I have to go the extra mile and study more :) Thankfully my school provided Kaplan for us this year. My studying has been mainly focused on Kaplan. My scores so far have been this:

-question trainers: 66,60,46,57,61,56

-qbank: 62

-sample tests: 60,62,90,40

- readiness (we took this in school rushed and i didnt know anything): 64%

I still have 200 qbanks to do and Im doing qt7 tomorrow. I know my ques trainers have been fluctuating but ive been doing better on the qbanks. I started out getting 45-60% a month ago and now have been getting 65-80% on them. I am worried that my qt are too low and that I'm not being consistent. I also have a couple friends i work with who graduated last year and still cant pass and They scare me and tell me that i would be lucky to pass because its horrible. I have friends in different states that i graduated with who have passed with flying colors without putting much effort into it.

I also came across Uworld and have been starting a couple ques. Is kaplan or Uworld more identical to the testing format on the nclex? I also read the ati cumulative content book, did a couple questions from the Kaplan book, some ques from the lippincott alternative book, and a couple chapters in the Q&A Davis Success Comprehensive book.

So to summarize this all.. Am i doing okay?! What did you guys use to study that was helpful? Sometimes I feel like Im playing Russian Roulette with these Kaplan ques since theyre so hard! Worried that I'll guess wrong. I am definitely more confident in myself now than I was a month ago, but I still feel like I dont know a lot.

Thanks guys :)

My whole test was peds and maternity (my weakest) and i was unsure of all the answer choices. I just chose the answers based on my gut feeling even if i wasnt sure. I didnt think it was like kaplan at all. The answer choices were very weird and i didnt expect my whole test to be my weakest. They really know your weak points! I was calm during the test but i couldnt recall a lot of the stuff i knew. It was as if ive never studied.

Hey hey today is the 15th! 😊 How was it? I bet you you passed! Going to say a prayer for you but it sounds like you did a lot of studying so you probably don't even need it 😉

Finishing in 75 questions is a good sign. I agree with RNsRWe, don't do the PVT again. You'll have your Quick Results on Friday morning and then you'll know 100% for sure if you've passed. YAY! The NCLEX is over :)

Ugh I didnt think it went well :/ i was unsure of a lot. I finished at 75 and i only had 10 selects. Idk if the rumor that if you end on a select all means you passed? I dont feel confident at all bc my whole test was on topics ive never even focused on

Don't worry i bet you passed! EVERYONE says they feel as though they fail! Just be patient and be happy it's over

I hope its over for good! Never want to go through that ever again. I wont be officially calm untill i see the word PASS on friday. This wait is unbearable

I was the same exact way. Trust in the 75!!!! That's a great number and hard to fail at that... Good luck!!:roflmao:

No one feels like they did well. As far as ending on a SATA, that's just a rumor. No bearing on whether you passed or failed. It just depends on whether you were above or below the passing line within the 90% confidence interval. Only PV knows the answer to that, unfortunately. No way to guess either way. Yes, the wait is EXCRUCIATING!

Ugh, you people and your instant gratifications lol.

Think about the nurses that tested in the '80s that had to wait 4 months for results! I did the PVT when I got to my car in the parking lot right after the test and got the good pop-up ... 😝 I passed at 75 and no my last question was not SATA. I remember dawdling on that last question for 5 minutes afraid to press the next button! I got lots of OB questions too.

Forget the test and go have 5 beers lol. It's over! I'll congratulate you Friday 😝

I took my exam today (July 15th) at 8am also. I stopped at 100 questions. I was nervous when I saw my first question was a SATA. I had tons of SATA, psych, OB and priority questions (so many of these). Praying I passed. I don't know how to do the Pearson Vue Trick. Wish someone could tell me. The waiting game is horrible. Can it be friday already?

ahahah true! Im assuming that they know what your weakest points are because they kept throwing those questions at me! I felt like I was playing a guessing game that wasnt fun. At least on kaplan i could eliminate two. but holy crap on there i couldnt eliminate more than one. OMG if I had to wait 4 weeks I would probably live in a hole and not move until then.

tm3175, my first question was on DEVELOPMENTAL FOR PEDS and i was like **** this is exactly what I prayed not to get especially my FIRST question. having a lot of SATA is GOOD!!!! i only had 10 which is what freaked me out. I had 1 exhibit, 0 math, 0 drop down, 10 select alls, 8 meds, 10 med surg, around 4 psych ques and the rest was maternity and peds. PRAYING PRAYING PRAYING,.

and the PVT, you have to go on to your pearson vue account as if you are about to reschedule your exam or reregister to pearson. the first thing that comes up is like a bunch of ques about your address and stuff and then your credit card info pops up to put in your info to give the "$200". then you have to submit your information and then the good pop up saying "our records indicate that .. blah blah blah" comes up which supposedly means you passed
