Temple Jr College LVN 2012-Anyone else waiting on their letter??

I am anxiously awaiting to hear from the LVN Dept. to see if I got in or not! Anyone else? I hate having to wait so long, haha. I just wanted to introduce myself and wish everyone else luck! I am crossing my fingers and hope that we all get in. My name is Amanda, and I am hoping to get in the LVN program, and then bridge to a BSN program soon after that. :nurse:

Good luck @mrskupidlowski!! Like ddr87 said, you need to start the HebB series and if you are a new student, you will need your meningitis shot. All of the other vaccinations that are required will be listed on your acceptance letter. They include MMR, TB, Varicella, and tetorifice.

Amanda, does the letter say anything about Varicella being required even if you had pox as a kid?

...Also, the TB, it requires a TB shot or TB test? Just wondering because I have to see my doctor again today but I probably won't have my letter by the time I see him. I figure I would just get all my shots out of the way this visit.

Yes, you don't need it if you had it. You just need proof that you have had it. I am doing a titter blood draw so I can have proof, and the doctors office knows which shots I need. I have no clue where my shot record is, so that's why I'm doing the titter.

You need a tb skin test.

Awesome, I'm in the same spot, I had chicken pox as a kid and I have no clue where any of my shot records are so I'm basically feel like a voodoo doll at this point lol

Haha!!!! I know that feeling! I'm not looking foward to getting the shots. I've already had the tetorifice shot, so that's one down!

I had the meningitis shot (figured they would probably want us to have that even if weve been in school) and I have my first heb b shot, both last week when I went. Today i'm going to get everything that I can or some sort of proof that I don't need it.....Does the letter say anything about if you don't have all 3 Hep B shots by the start of classes?

It does say that they want the series to be completed by the start of clinicals. Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and get my meningitis shot too. My docs office recommends that I get it.

I'm gonna go ahead and get my Tetorifice shot and my TB test today and I suppose the MMR as well but I'm going to also do the titer blood test for the chickenpox....fun fun fun :)

I'm gonna try and find out from someone whos currently in the VN program what happens if you don't get all Hep B shots by the start of clinicals, or for that matter when the clinicals actually start.

I tried to ask my doc about the fast track for the Hep B but he said there was none and that I had to wait the full 6 months.
