I am anxiously awaiting to hear from the LVN Dept. to see if I got in or not! Anyone else? I hate having to wait so long, haha. I just wanted to introduce myself and wish everyone else luck! I am crossing my fingers and hope that we all get in. My name is Amanda, and I am hoping to get in the LVN program, and then bridge to a BSN program soon after that.
I know Amanda is doing it already...but to anyone else who applied to LVN at TC, even though you have not gotten your letter yet, you probably need to start your Hep B shots now...within the next few days. If you get the First shot now, you have to wait a month for the 2nd. Than atleast 4 months from the first can you get the final shot. Normally it's 6 months but you should be able to get it atleast 4 months after the first one. If you do this than you should have the complete series by the time school starts.
This is important because you may not be able to start school or all the classes without the shots. Sooo just as an FYI...start the shots now so you don't run into problems later.
Also of course everyone should know by now, get your menigities shots and turn in proof of that to TC by march, oorr you don't get to go.
We all have abunch of stuff ahead....Good Luck everyone!
P.S. If anyone who has applied has any questions about what they need to be doing or anything, feel free to post your questions.
When I went to get my second HepB shot yesterday, they went ahead and put me on the fast track series. I will have all shots by May 30. Anyone who hasn't started the series yet can ask their doc to do the fast track for their HepB. @Dan- if we were already attending TC last semester, do we still have to get the meningitis shot? From what I understand, students that attended TC prior to Spring2012 didn't have to get that shot.
I emailed the college because i've been taking classes for the past year and they told me we still have to get that shot, the only difference is for students that have been enrolled, we don't have to submit the proof untill march.
New students had to submit that information earlier from what I understand.
So if you want to call TC just to verify you can, but I'm gonna do it just to get it out of the way because I'm sure since it was put into law they would find a way to make us get it eventually lol.
300 people! Wow...yikes! I have so much time inbetween each HepB shots. I emailed the nursing department and they said that was fine, as long as I had my 3 shots documented. I was under the impression though that they had to all be received in 6 months time period. I did not know that about the meningitis shot, I will add that to the list! Thx.
