Temple College and Central Texas College LVN-RN

Im not but I see that you are pretty familiar with Temple college and just wanted to ask you some questions. I really want to get into the ADN program there but I know it is competitive and I have C's in two of the pre-reqs so I was wanted to apply to both ADN and LVN programs and see what happens. I know that you graduated from the LVN programs there and I just wondered what you had done already when you applied. I am preparing to study for the test and take that.. which I do not believe will be a big problem and I am going to take ITSE 1294 in the spring to apply towards both ADN and LVN applications. I wanted to also take Bio 2404 that is recommended for LVN but there is not a course available to take in the spring. Had you completed both courses when you applied??? How well did you do on your exam??? Also would you suggest applying for both even if I have C's in 2 of the 3 pre-reqs for ADN??? Thanks so much for your time and I know its alot to read ... Not exactly sure yet but it will be soon. What are your grades and everything like right now? Honestly, I think my best bet would be LVN

hey you guys sorry i am just now seeing this been super busy with the end of the semester and all...ok in response to tater8705 i still would apply to the associate degree program with two c's because you never know but i would also definitely apply to the vn program because they accept so many more people...i had taken several computer classes my first semester at tc so they just took one...i was in progress with the intro class...i would check and see if they have that online at tc...the two classes are not prereqs but are actually coreqs that can be taken while in the program...i had a 90 something on the net overall but i know people who made in th 50's on the test but got in as well...but from what i can tell the hesi is a much harder test so i would definitely study some i went to take it. well i hope i was able to help you some so if you need to know anything else just let me know:) oh btw good luck with everything!!!!

Okay thank you sooo much lol.. Another question I wanted to know how the schedule was for the LVN program as well.. did you go everyday from 8-4 or so??? Just curious because I hear lots of different things. I have also heard the HESI is harder and I have not even gotten a study guide yet so I really need to get on that ASAP.. Thanks again

No problemo:) Well the first semester was like 7-5 and the other semesters were like 8-5 and half a day Friday. Clinical days were like 6 until 4. Very intense program but I know you can do it:)

You give really helpful information!:yeah:Thanks for everything. I'm taking my Hesi test in January but I wanted to know if it was possible to apply to both?? I have all the credits for the ADN but wanted a back up plan because I'm really ready to get everything started. Do lots of people usually apply to Temple? Well I'm currently not a student at Temple so I went ahead and applied to the college. Any other information I should know? I know thats lots of information but Im just kind of nervous!

Thank you...Ok you can definitely can apply to both and I always highly recommend this. There are usually well over 600 people that apply to LVN program and around 400 for the RN program. In my opinion, that is a huge number of applicants applying for about 40 spots in RN and around 75 spots in the LVN program. Letters of recommendation are not required but wouldn't hurt especially from someone in the medical field or from a previous/current instructor. I actually worked part-time while in the program but I can also tell you that is kind of hard to this especially when you have 3 tests on a single day to study for but it is not impossible to pass if you have to this...but I will gladly say it would much easier i you don’t have to this. I would also start to make sure I have my shot records together. Once in, this task can be hard one to get started. If you haven't had hep B shots within the last 10 years you need to start ASAP because it takes around 6 months to complete the serious.
