Again, it is always easier to find an employer if one holds an actual license as an RN, and not temporary registration and not having written the licensing exam for that country.
Just because the CNO has something that requires the employer before granting temporary registration, it means that one actually has to get the employer, and that is not as easy as one may think.
That is all that I am trying to say.
Even in the US with the states that still honor the interim permit for those that have not written the exam but meet all of the other requirements, it is still quite difficult to get the job if one has not trained in that country either.
Thanks guys, does this mean that i am pretty much stuffed untill i sit the exam as i will not be given a work permit without a full time job offer ???
So i am stuck in Scotland till October
If you can find a employer willing to help with your temp permit that is up to you. October will soon come around. I know of 2 nurses coming to Canada one on a temp license until she sits the exam and another has waited until after she had sat the exam so it does vary. RGN1 is hopefully going once her application and medical is done and she is going out on temp license, try looking for some of her posts

Hi guys,
I am currently looking to move to Toronto this summer.
I have been accepted to write the exam in Ontario but am having a few problems on teh job front.
I have been told that a few key Toronto hospitals will not accept nurses who have not sat teh exam but i beleive that they would let me work if i had a Temporary Registration.
So am i correct in thinking that a Temporary registration should allow me to work in any hospital in Toronton untill i sit the exam ???
Thank you very much :nuke:
