Has anyone had any experiences with telephone timekeeping systems? Where you have to call in when you get to the client's home, then call out when you are about to leave the client's home. I'm looking for as much information about systems of this type, like: Does it work all the time? What did you have to do if it wasn't working? What happens if you forgot to call in or out? Did your employer penalize you for forgetting? Did you enter visit data during the phone call, either through keypad entries or voice recordings? I would appreciate any and all information. Thank you.

When I work private duty ( one patient per shift) I call when I arive at the home and when I leave. It is called the telephony system. It is usually working. On times when it is not working, say I call in the am and it says its down, I will just phone in later that day and it will ask why you are not calling from the patients home. All I have to do is select the code for it (system was down #3) and thats it. Our policy is if its not in the phone system, you will not get paid. Once your used to it and the numbers you have to put in, you will be able to dial and put in info and be done in a minute! I hope homecare never does this, that would be way toooo much calling in with 6 patients.

I worked at a major children's hospital where it was in use. It was so easy. If you forgot, you could fill out an "OOPS" slip.
Thank you that would be great.

Called Home track we use it on all our care givers Love it we know when there late when there early .If they leave early .Also tracks all the CPR first aide shots like hep b and shuch, about a week before there do .You see it
come up on the screen .Also it saves questions on billing it knows just how much we charge on each Pt.
The only down side is when the caregiver doesn't clock in and out You have to go and manually handle it . Has to be on each Pt phone .Not on the cell some try to play stupid and do it on there cell .also has the plan of care on it and prints it out. when you hit print.

I was alright unless you were not allowed to make phone calls from the client's home, or you forgot, but there were ways to maniplulate the system. Most of that gaming was trackable. I would be curious to know if the company fixed those glitches. Amazing how creative people can be to beat the system LOL.

When we go out to set up care I inform the family of the clock in clock out on the phone .Only one has been a problem where the guy was deaf and it wouldn't work on that system .The care givers still try to you the cell phone But after being warned 3 times then .They have to go back and get a note from the family on the time they were there..This is a big hassle for them so it ussally doesn't happen again.
